Amazing storyline

the detail in which she writes and the way it is narrated makes you feel like you can actually see it in your head! Sherrilyn is an amazing writer!

Novella stole the show!

Loved! It took a hot minute to recall all the players, but once I did, I didn’t want it to end! Holter Graham was perfection as always!

all the other books the narator did a good job. This one was not even close. maybe he needed to listen to the way he did the characters voices in previous recordings. Simi was so terrible I literally cringed it hurt my ears so bad. It was nothing like before. I hope this gets fixed next time.

good story and characters

as usual for the author, this is a good story with great character development. but since it's been a while since I listened to other books in the series, I found it hard to keep up with all the plots and time changes. also, the narrators voice seemed more like a spoiled boy than an adult, with a whine in it that I found unpleasant, so I haven't finished the book. I've tried twice now and just can't.

Not sure where to start…

OMG- what happened to Holter Graham’s voice? I can’t even listen to the shrieking, ear piercing rendition of Simi! I used to love Holter Graham, and I know it’s been awhile between books, but doesn’t he listen to his past work? Or practice? And the person in charge of recording- how can you let this pass? It’s cringe worthy.
As for the story, we’re now finally, after what, 30 books, getting some explanations, although it’s being dragged out, probably because the author is trying to recoup some of her divorce losses. She knows she has us all hooked like a bunch of sheep who will keep following her, just so we can finally have some closure. Looks like we have about another five years and 10 books before we finally get there…🤷‍♀️ But somebody better do something about Simi’s voice.

the fix I knew I needed

Like a true drug dealer Sherrilyn Kenyon does it again, leaves me panting on the floor begging for more. I was always hopeful for a continuation of the chronicles of Nick now I find myself wishing a year would pass so I can continue the journey. She seamlessly continued the saga as if it where yesterday and never lost a beat. These where the stories that introduced me to her and I have been an avid reader since. Thank you for the world you have built and the escape you have offered. Patiently impatient your fan Chris.

Just a bit sad …

I have been reading Sherrilyn Kenyon for many many years and discovered Holter Graham from The League Series.

He’s been my favorite Voice Performer for the majority of her books unfortunately, this time I was so disappointed … He changed his Simi voice and I just can not imagine why … It’s so inconsistent from his past performances and I agree that it made me cringe -

Simi’s voice is a high sing-song when she’s in her human form. When she transforms to her demon form, that’s when her voice goes to a low register sing-song with some mid range squeaks - not all mixed up together throughout her dialogue! I’m so bummed …

As for the story and plot, I get the rehash; it’s for the reader that just picks out the book cuz the cover and blurb attract them and if they’re a reader’s reader like me, they look up the author and go back to the first book in the series.

However it is hard to wade through if you are a series fan so my suggestion is to read the last book in Chronicles especially if it’s been a while since you last read it.

I love and support all my favorite authors just like any die hard sports fans love their favorite teams - you either are or you aren’t a fan-for-life whether they win the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup or they don’t - no matter - you are always their fan, cheering and rooting them on!
