Publisher's Summary

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he's got a year left to prove that he's still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody's taking dirty shots - except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league's only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can't help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she's got. She hopes that their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker's conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure's on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it's too late.

A perfect romance :) **this is a must read series**

I have read every book by Sawyer Bennett and I must say I am never disappointed. This was a beautiful romance and I only had to roll my eyes a couple times, unlike most romances where you want to strangle the heroine and tell her she's being a moron. I don't like lots of angst and this was the perfect combination of drama and happiness. And for once one of the lovers didn't let the other go "for his/her own good" as seems to be the case in most romances. I hope there will be another cold fury book coming after this as I am hooked on those hotties!!! <3

Gray and Ryker!

Another great addition to the Cold Fury series! This is a heart warming story. I loved seeing things from a single dads point of view. This is my least favorite Sawyer Bennett book and I still loved it! As always, I highly recommend anything by Ms. Bennett.

Great addition to the series

I'm going through the Cold Fury series and i'm loving it. I really like the characters- Ryker for instance was so sweet with his daughters and I liked him even in the prior book. Well, he and Gray, the new general manager of the Cold Fury team had a slow burn romance. it was especially sweet because both of them really supported the other and their relationship rolled our really well. There wasn't that much hockey, which is kind of funny given both were so entrenched in the game itself. The story was more about their relationship but also about the difficulties that come when a woman wants to get entrenched into what is a male dominated field. Well done!

I've listened to Cris and Graham narrate all the other prior Cold Fury books and they were as good in this one as the others. They played multiple characters well and overall, were good to listen to.

Ryker

Oh my! Ryker is all kinds of goodness and hotness rolled into this single father goalie who is playing at this all-time best. Add into that and he is carrying on a secret affair with the newest GM of the team, the first female GM in the NHL. Gray Brannon has been working towards this all her life and now she could lose everything if they are found out. This one was so good! You could read this one as a standalone but I do not know why you would want to...

ENJOYED...

This was a sweet, happy love story. I LOVED Ryker and Grey. Graham Halstead did an ok job narrating but Cris Dukehart came very close to ruining the entire “vibe” of the story. Her voice simply did not fit the part of Grey, and neither narrator could voice the opposite sex very well. But, this book reminded me of book #1 of THE CHICAGO STARS series which was one of my favorites, so I discounted Dukehart’s performance and enjoyed the story.

Ryker!!! My favorite player... Sigh

One word, WOW!!! I think I fell a bit in love with Ryker myself. I absolutely, positively loved this story. If you love contemporary romance, this is definitely the book/series for you. If you like hockey, you will love it even more.
This is the story of two people that probably should not be in a relationship. Ryker is the starting goalie of the Cold Fury Hockey team, and, Grayson is the GM, his boss. Gray is the first female in history to be a GM of a professional hockey team, so she has something to prove. I love watching, or rather reading about all the sparks that fly during this book. Ms. Bennett does a phenomenal job writing the story of Ryker and Gray avoiding and overcoming all of the obstacles and winning in the game of Love (ouch, bad pun, but I am keeping it anyway). My last thought, Thank You, Ms Bennett, for making Hockey Stars more human and approachable.
Thank yo,u Ms. Bennett for writing these stories and sharing your phenomenal talents your your readers!
Oh look, is that a "Hawke" flying down the ice?!?
Narrators Cris Dukehart, and Graham Halstead have done a phenomenal job bringing this story to voice. They bring the story so much more to life. Thank you, both.
Thank you for reading my review. Read/listen to this book, you will not be disappointed!

Ryker’s the Man

This is book 4 in the series and another winner for Sawyer Bennett in my humble opinion. Although a stand-alone, I would recommend that you read them in order of release.

To most in the game of Ice Hockey, Ryker Evans is an old man, a man on the way out. He only has a year left on his contract and in that time he needs to prove to everyone that he still has what it takes to play at the highest level. Add in the fact that he now has sole custody of his 2 young daughters and life is hectic for Ryker to say the least.

Ryker Evans was recruited to the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team by Grayson (Gray) Brannon who is now his boss. Gray is the only female general manager in the league. A fact she is immensely proud of. She is a professional, driven and highly intelligent woman whose focus has been more on business than pleasure. She is determined to help the team get to the playoffs and ultimately to win the championship trophy.

They are both attracted to each other, and although concerned about mixing business and pleasure Gray is helpless to deny her growing feelings for Ryker. Their chemistry is obvious but they must be careful and ensure that the team and particularly the press do not find out about their growing relationship.

There are many layers to Ryker, not the least of which is how he loves his daughters. I did feel that there could have been a little more interaction between Ryker and his daughters; after all they are a huge part of his life.

Ryker falls for Gray and is amazed at how her mind works and is very supportive of her plans for the team. However he is in the minority as so many of the players doubt her and her abilities. Ryker doesn’t; he has faith.

As with real life, nothing goes smoothly, when Ryker’s ex-wife shows up wanting to re connect and cause drama. However she doesn’t count on the strength of the relationship that Ryker and Gray have built.

This series is to me a family and I loved catching up on the previous couples and seeing what is happening in their loves. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Great Story!

I’m enjoying this series a lot, however, Ryker and Grey have been my absolute favorite. The story was solid. I loved that they both were true to themselves throughout the story and faced their feelings. When I read the blurb, I was afraid that Grey was going to be an ice queen and that was absolutely not the case. I loved Ryker immediately in Zack’s book and continued to do so in his book.
