Publisher's Summary

One of Lacy's beaus has a bow. Unlike Cupid, his arrows kill. There's more than romance in the air this Valentine's Day! Running from Arrows is the fun, twist-filled, romantic cozy mystery romp you've been waiting for!

Valentine's Day is coming up, and Lacy is single. If that's not bad enough, she has a secret admirer. Is he the compassionate, haunted detective; the ruggedly handsome businessman; the suave maître d’; the guy in her running group who stares too much; or maybe someone who's not yet on her radar? She'll find out soon enough because he's invited her to dinner. Now the question isn't how long Lacy will remain single...but how long she'll remain alive.

During the Sweetheart Run through the town of Cedar Mill, a fellow runner is murdered and a notorious burglar called the Black Cat is found dead, with an arrow sticking out of him. The press has dubbed the mysterious assassin the "Cupid Killer". He has so far claimed two victims. There will soon be a third, but who will that be?

The strange murders are somehow connected to the ladies of Run for It - Lacy the quiet divorcee, Stax the quirky bookseller, and Ruby the old-time mystery novelist. They're back in a race against time to catch an invisible killer, figure out the identity of Lacy’s secret admirer, and exonerate an innocent man! If you love a delicious mystery dripping with romance, humor, and chills - and a Valentine's Day dinner no listener will ever forget - then buy Running from Arrows now and put it in your ears today!

You'll want to tell all your friends about Running from Arrows, but whatever you do, don't tell the secret of the secret admirer. Running from Arrows is part two in a series but can be listened to as a stand-alone.

You will fall in love with these characters!

This is book 2 in the series, and the characters are so well developed and multi dimensional that you will fall in love with them. Ruby is my favorite, she’s so wise yet mysterious & always sits back and assesses the situation, quietly solving the mystery. But the best part is the friendship between Lacey, Ruby & Stacks.
The story line of this book was also my favorite. Lacey has a secret admirer and with each passing chapter we get closer to figuring out who it is. And wow will you be shocked, because that sets off a ripple of further events which left me shocked in the best way. This is well written, narrated & overall a perfect cozy! Highly recommend ! I was gifted this book and offered my honest review

Loved the 2nd in this series

I love this series and not because I'm a fellow Oklahoman! I love stories that are about women sleuths and add cozy mystery to the mix and you've already got the basis for a great book. Again, I think this author and narrator pair well together to bring the ebook up a notch to have me crawling inside this story. I must say it was hard to put down. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Exciting!

T. C. Wescott has to have a brilliant mind to have written this mystery. It kept me guessing on who did it and Natalie Naudus had the perfect voice to bring it to the plate with her narration. I enjoyed every word of it! Don’t miss this one!

Love is in the Air and Murder is on the Rooftop

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the second book in A Running Store Mystery series. It is a standalone book and can easily be read without reading the first book [Running with Scissors]. There are numerous references to events which occurred in the first book, but the author provides quick summaries of those events to catch you up [or remind you, if it's been a while since you've read the first book]. However, the first book does provide the back story of the main characters, which is a nice place to start as it is usually the characters which cause you to return to a cozy mystery series.

Here, the story centers around Valentine's Day. The town is holding a race in which Lacy is competing. At the time of the race, several people, including Staxx, are dressed up as Cupid and wearing masks. The mayor starts the race by shooting an arrow straight up at a target on a rooftop. However, up on the rooftop is a catburglar and Beverly, who is a member of Lacy's running group and dressed as Cupid. Both are found dead - Beverly by multiple stab wounds and the cat burglar by arrow. The cat burglar had been in Staxx's bookstore the day prior trying to warn her of danger. So, was Staxx the intended victim? Was the cat burglar mistakenly hit by the mayor's arrow? One thing is for sure, it is dangerous to be a part of Lacy's running group. Ruby again takes the lead in the investigation.

I really like the characters and there are some great heart felt moments in this story - especially with Ruby. I enjoyed Lacy's secret admirer story [it is Valentine's Day - so love is in the air] and her insecurities about someone finding her attractive but having the bravery to push herself towards what she wants - to be loved.

I thought the solution to the mystery was clever -- perhaps a bit too clever. Here's what I wish the author might consider for future books - I don't mind that Ruby is the lead investigator but her investigations seem to mostly occur behind the scenes while Lacy and Staxx bumble around. It would be nice if Staxx and Lacy were not so inept but actually contribute more on their own - instead of being directed by Ruby - and some of Ruby's investigating to occur in the narrative. Nevertheless, I look forward to continuing with the series.

The narrator, Natalie Naudus, was pitch perfect for this story.

okay

This is an ok story. I liked most of the characters and the story was interesting. I figured out who the murderer was, but, I continued listening to find out why. The only thing bad about the story was Ruby's character and her big reveal. Both were overdone.

I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

Running from Arrows

It’s Valentine’s Day, and who knew Cupid’s arrows could be so deadly. With multiple murders and even more suspects, the ladies are in a race for their lives to figure things out before the killer can strike again.

T.C. Westcott kept me guessing right up until the very end, and I love it when that happens!

No issues with the narration... well done, Natalie Naudus.
