Publisher's Summary

Barrett

The name's Barrett Callahan. Yeah, that Barrett Callahan - the one the press dubbed "bare", after those naked sexting pictures surfaced. At 25, I was armed with an MBA from Harvard, an executive position at my father's Fortune 500 company, a penthouse, and a different piece of delectable eye candy in my bed every weekend. I had a life most men dreamed of. But then my father decided to run for president, and my playboy lifestyle became a liability to his campaign that was built on family values. My "makeover" comes in the form of a fake fiancée who I don't even get to choose - one who is an uptight, choirgirl, acting prissy, but also sexy as hell.

Addison

My latest relationship had gone down in flames, and I was drowning in a sea of student loans, when, in true Godfather status, James Callahan made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Seven figures for seven months on the campaign trail, pretending to be the adoring fiancée of his son, Barrett. As soon as he won the election, our engagement would be dissolved amicably for the press, I was free to ride off into the sunset a million dollars richer, and because of the NDA, no one would be the wiser. Sure, I'd never met the guy, but I'd been a theater nerd in high school. I could pull off any role from Lady Macbeth to Maria Von Trapp. But that was before I met my fake fiancé - the infuriating, self-absorbed, egotistical, drop dead sexy, King of the Man Whores.

The race will be a fight-to-the-death finish, and that's not even the actual campaign.

I really enjoyed this book. I laughed a lot and the banter between them was perfect! I love when a notorious playboy falls in love. These characters were fun and real, had a great connection. The chemistry from the beginning was on point and I loved how they got to know each other first. I wasn't sure what to expect when going into this book since i'm not much a fan of politics in my romance but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised.

The narration was great, they both were cast well for the characters!

So SO good!!!

This was my first Katie Ashley book, but it won't be my last. Wyles and Bratz were fun to listen to and I absolutely loved this story. Totally worth the credit. If You enjoy fun banter and sweet romance, you'll love this one!

Fun story and there was actual singing!

Very cute story and a fun read. Love the Narrators who actually belted out lyrics to songs instead of just reading the words! I would read it again.

Sexcellent

The sexual bits in this story were insane. I was in a burger king drive through when one started and almost had to leave because of how fogged up my windows got. The story itself was trash. Addison was very annoying and although she had her own issues, it seemed like her character was just meant to pick fights with the dude. Not good fights either. He was a pretty basic frat bro and I wanted to like him but he was just so asinine. I read this solely for the sex though so I was satisfied there. Just needed something that wasn't a murder mystery to cleanse my palette.

The Bear? Seriously?

There is so much sophomoric content here I can’t even quote it all but by far the worst is Barrett seriously referring to his parts as the Bear. Ugh.

Male narrator was pretty awful - whispering when the narration said “yelled”, awkward pauses. The female narrator called the main character “Allison”, but otherwise was not too bad.

Did not finish - gave up when it turned into the Bear show.

Good

I like the story, "Running Mate", and the author. The performance of Stephanie Wyles was lacking. When she read, she had a question at the end of dialogue that wasn't a question. A lilt, I guess. It was VERY annoying. Whereas Jeffery Bratz did an excellent job narrating each character. I'd like to listen to him again.
The audio book is worth a credit. 😁

Awesome narration!

Excellent narrators. I loved this story. I think we need a sequel, and I’d like to see the next stage for Ty.

Listened to three minutes

And was so deeply offended by the crass, crude cursing I quickly returned the book. No need to listen to this when many worthwhile books are available.
