Two Feathers was a young Native learning the ways of the Choctaw. However, he was not like the other men in his village who lived off of the land, farming and raising livestock. He enjoyed spilling the blood of the invaders and was absent, fighting, more than he was home. Still, he had fallen for the little white girl who couldn’t farm, couldn’t make baskets, and was generally a failure at native life. Returning from a battle, he discovered the white men had taken Bliss, the woman with whom he expected to share his life. Gone were his desires to do anything other than locate her.

Publisher's Summary
The times are changing faster than Running Elk can keep up with. Every day when the Comanche wakes up, there are fewer buffalo and more white settlers invading the plains where he and his people make their home. Angered as he is by the relentless assault on the land he loves, Running Elk doesn’t think about the differences between his people and the settlers when he spots Alexandria Standish picking flowers one day. The woman’s beauty bowls him over, and Running Elk knows he’ll never be the same again, just like he knows he won’t be able to avoid seeking her out, again and again, no matter the consequences.
Alexandria doesn’t know what to think when she encounters the quiet, handsome Comanche warrior just beyond her wagon train’s encampment. She’s never met anyone who makes her feel this way - not even her husband, who is more brother to her than lover, truthfully. But Running Elk stirs something in her…something she can’t let go of, no matter what. And when he kisses her for the first time, she knows that her world has been forever changed.
Will their love be able to conquer the tide of change sweeping across the country, threatening the only life Running Elk and his tribe have ever known?

A love story
This book is a love story. I enjoy the story and the struggles the love story had. It has no foul language. Violence does not go into great detail. Sex scenes do not go into great detail. Love conquers in the end. The narrator does a good job giving characters their individual voice. The only thing which was a little bit annoying to me was the breathing sounds. This book was given to me for a unbiased review.

Great Native American Story
If you like stories and histories of Native Americans, this book is for you. The audible narration by Christy Sassman is wonderful and her voice conveys the feelings of the characters in the story, with the ability to evoke moods and feelings as she weaves this story. It is almost as if she was doing a radio show from Golden Age of Norman Corwin. I do not know what else she has done but she is talented and should be at the top of the list for anyone who needs a narrator for an audio book.

Great read!
I love the names native Americans use and that sets the scene for the book for me. The story was great, and very sad. As always when one part of society want to rule over another, no good comes of it. I really enjoyed it. I did not enjoy the narrator, reading too slow. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Sucked me in!
The story sucked me in at the being, but the ending was a bit drawn out and then ended abruptly. Overall the story was a good one and I am glad I listened to it. The narrator did a good job at making different voices for different characters. And they were clear and distinct voices and I feel appropriately executed.

Not Bad
This book was not what I was expecting. I am not usually into love stories but I stuck with it. The storyline is kinda cheesy in a Hallmark kind of way. It had its sad points and its tense points. The narrator was okay. Several mispronounced words and not very good voice transitions. However if you like a cute love story youll like this book.

A uniquely written love story
I love the setting of this story. All though the tragedy of Native American's lives at the time of this book is set and my heart hurts for the suffering, the love story is sweet and so easy to to cheer for. The narrator did an alright job. The recording had quite a few moments of loud breathing and she did a pretty good job giving some different voices to each character but on occasion she didn't transition to the different character at the right moment. But I am happy I listened to this story. I really liked it.

Narrator - not for me
Audio books for me are all about the story teller and the voice. I shall have to read a paper copy of this novel because I couldn't stand to listen to the voice of the woman narrating.
