Publisher's summary

One elite fae warrior. Four superior officers. A bond they can’t remember - or resist.

Lera was once human. Now, with dark magic leaking into the mortal world, Lera and her four fae warriors must protect her home realm - even if that means going undercover to a human military academy. But when a sudden, terrible accident melds the males with their human disguise, everything changes. Now it’s up to Lera to make her mates remember themselves, their mission, and her, before the entire mortal world pays the price.

River, Shade, Tye, and Coal can’t overlook the gorgeous new cadet who’s just arrived at Great Falls Academy, but when the tantalizing Lera starts breaking rules and ignoring orders, the four senior officers intend to put her in her place. Lera will learn or she will quit - that is just how Great Falls works.

Rules of Stone is the first episode in the Great Falls Academy novella series, featuring the same reverse-harem cast as Alex Lidell’s internationally best-selling Power of Five series. Episodes (novellas) will be released in one-month intervals and feature a complete internal plot, as well as an overall season arc. (Listening to the Power of Five novels is not necessary to enjoy Great Falls Academy.)

Join Lera and her males for an all-new Power of Five adventure!

5 stars BUT...

Going into this series, I knew it was a novella. I read the previous serious, so once more not a surprise. As much as I enjoy a novella every now and again, this is a series of novellas that, in the end, completes a full book. As much as I understand the explanation in the beginning, as to why the author has chosen to do this, this is THE one thing I do not like, therefore making me want to give it less than 5 stars, but I did because I have and still do really love these books, and am very happy that she is doing a continuation. This month by month thing, is another BLAH in my opinion. I mean seriously, just write the full book all at once, and stop torchering your readers. I do recommend these books, if you're into reverse harem, but be cautioned of what I have written, as you will be spending a butt load of credits for a freaking novella. So, yes I did give it 5 stars, as the story deserves it, but because I am aware that the author could make this into a book, it make me want to give it one star, only due to pissing me off. So, here is waiting for novella number two next month. Do I recommend it, again yes, but only if you are willing to spend your credits on it, otherwise DO NOT BOTHER because great series or not, I am sure you can find something better to read that is a full book, rather that a short version, only to continue to wait for another short version month by month. I think her explanation to this in the beginning of the series, before you start listening to this, is lame and quite frankly the stupidist thing I have ever heard.
Good luck everyone, but beware of this and choose wisely.

Different Adventure

I like that these are the same characters from Power of Five but with a totally different adventure going on. The five of them go undercover but she turns out to be the only one to remember. It gets a little confusing sometimes because of the memory issue and prophecy being talked about as well but it comes together more and I feel like they are romancing each other all over again. Can never have to much romance! The characters are great and I want to know more so I am impatiently waiting to listen to the next audiobook! Victoria Mei is the narrator and she's a natural at this. Love how she brings the characters to life. She has a great voice to listen to and enjoy.

Great Story & Audible Listen🎧 Fascinating!!

This is a great start to a new series. This is my first Alex Lidell book and it will not be my last. She is has a great writing style, the world and characters she created are imaginative and interesting. I have not had the pleasure to enjoy the series prior to this one but that did not stop me from enjoying this one. The book starts telling you about Lera and her four fae warriors, Coal, Tye, River and Shade. There is descriptive details about the world they live in and what is going on. There are problems in the realms and since Lara is from the mortal world the quint is sent on a mission there. Using magic they are sent on a mission to the Great Falls Academy. Interesting twist and turn of event happens changing things. It had me wondering and wanting to know more. Are things going as planned or was there an interception of some kind along the way to change things and if so why, accident or intentional? I am looking forward to what comes next in this series. Alex Lidell, thank you for this entertaining story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Victoria Mei is a wonderful narrator and voice performer.. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own unique voice and personality. Awesome delivery on the different accents too. It is amazing how flawlessly she switches characters, roles, and keeps the story in a perfect flow. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Victoria Mei, thank you for another great listen🎧.

Not enough of a story

Even for a novella/episode I felt like the author wasted a lot of time on nonsensical things and could’ve made it much more appealing. Hopefully the next one is better. I really loved the books and am very much looking forward to these episodes fingers crossed

Too short, but not bad

I wish this book was longer. Then I would have had more than just the sex scenes. The narrator was amazing and I enjoyed listening to her. But I really wanted more of the story. It wasn’t bad, just needed more from it.

I voluntarily received a courtesy copy of this audio book from AudiobookObsession and I am choosing to leave a review.

First Episode

I was so very excited to get this book and listen to it. It has a promising summary and is the first episode in the series, so it was a short listen. Unfortunately, I didn't connect with the characters at all. The overall story was there, and it wasn't bad, I just couldn't get into it. Lera and her four mates have a cool mated bond and I thought the extreme differences in the men was a good idea.

What I absolutely loved about the book was the narrator's voice. She did a wonderful job, especially with the growly voice from the wolf shifter. That was probably my favorite! I would listen to more of her book narrations, hands down.

I thought the book itself was a 2/5, the narrator was a 4/5 so combined, I would say a 3/5 overall.

Thank you to the author/narrator for the review copy of this book via audiobook obsession. I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Episode 1 of 5

Great Falls Academy revisits the characters from The Power of Five. The story is told in first person present tense, which lends immediacy to the action. If you’re familiar with the events of the Power of Five, this is sort of a do-over. Lera and the males go on a covert mission that results in the men forgetting her and their mission and you get to see the men drawn to Lera all over again in an academy setting. Since this novella is just part one of a five part story, much is left unresolved. Fans won’t have to wait long for future installments though; the author is expecting the remaining episodes to publish one month part.
The narration is breathy but solid and the recording quality is good. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an unbiased review.

story great. cost excessive

I love these stories but using a credit for each novella is too much. they don't even offer a money option. Have to decline getting anymore, im retired and can't afford this!

Rules of Stone

Going undercover leads to so many complications that we just don’t see coming. I loved what has been thrown at us so far and can’t wait to see the outcome in the future.

Should Read Main Series 1st

I liked the characters and the story well enough but I feel like I would have enjoyed that story way more if I had already gotten to know our characters in the main story instead of meeting them in this spin off. The author notes that is a standalone and it somewhat is, but I just felt I would have enjoyed it more with the previous knowledge of the relationships in the Harem and the world the story is taking place in. Otherwise, I enjoyed the quest that our characters begin in this first installment of the spin off series.

Great narration! I was very pleased and would be happy to listen to more from this narrator.
