Publisher's summary

Despite his magnetic personality, Rylan can't seem to seduce Reese, the deadly leader of their town of outlaws. Winning her over is a welcome challenge, but her indifference isn't the only thing standing in his way. If he wants Reese, Rylan must also win over Sloan, her stoic protector.

Sloan has always loved Reese, but their painful past has stolen his chances of a future with her. Rylan's interest in Reese only intensifies the tension - until Sloan begins to wonder if the reckless man might be the one person who can bridge the distance.

The last time Reese fell for the wrong man, she had no choice but to kill him. Now, she desperately wants to take what both Rylan and Sloan are offering - but if she makes the wrong call again, she risks losing them both.

3rd story great; 4th for Dominic would be better!

I read previous stories in this series and had to continue. First story I read with man on man love scenes and had to admit it was hot. Main heroine Reece has 2 male love interests and kicks ass as colony leader.

Elle please say you are writing Dominic's story next. I want to read that.

Pretty cheesy dialogue between the trio!

Well, I really liked the first two books, in the series. This one, not so much. The sex was super hot. There was M/M and M/F/M action and it definitely got pretty steamy. However, I got annoyed with the standard, “I don’t want to get get emotionally close to anybody because I don’t want to get hurt” theme. Two members of the trio, had that hang up and I guess it just rubbed me the wrong way. I wish romance authors would come up with something new. Then, in a 36 hr time period, both feelings phobs, saw the error of their ways and confessed their everlasting love. Seriously?
In addition, the narrator’s accents were dorky as hell. I’m thinking this book is definitely going back, cause I never listen to it again.

Throuple in the apocalypse

The sex to story ratio gets better in book 3 with the various Outcasts starting to push back. The dystopian action, however, is still just the vehicle for the romance, which features Reese, Sloan and Rylan.

On the one hand, this was one of the better written MFM throuple relationships, especially with all three being strong and capable people. The sex scenes were hot, and not quite as constant and overblown (and over “blown” 😜) as the previous books. On the other hand, much like with the previous book, I was exasperated how these folks spent all of their energy avoiding emotional entanglements while internally beating themselves up over feelings. Oh, the “I’m not worthy” pity parties! (she chose him over me,
I wouldn’t be a good parent, I believe my friends can love but not me, and on and on).

More than the feelings angst, however, what fizzled the sizzle for me was the narrator’s voice for Rylan.
I think the narrator was exceptional at providing a wide variety of voices for the many cast members,
but she voices Rylan like a 13 year old hillbilly. Combine that with Reese’s whiskey timbre and it felt like listening to a cougar romance … and old ladies corrupting teens is so not my kink. Shudder.
I’d up the star rating across the board if the narrator changed Rylan’s voice.

I still found this to be a three star “pretty good” romance. I’d be down for a book 4 staring Dominic and Tamara, especially since that would have the potential to showcase more of the dystopian world
and lean further into post-apocalypse adventure.
