Story
Magic is returning to our world...early. Detective Leira Berens had her case blow up in her face. Literally. A last-minute surge of magic was the only thing that kept her in one piece. Now, the necklace is still in play, she has no leads, and it's time she got in touch with her feelings. She'd rather wrestle a felon to the ground than deal with her feelings. Fortunately, there are still road trips, Cheetos and Dr. Pepper. Correk, a light elf, is willing to help....

Homicide detective, Leira Berens is in a race against a magical force with a mischievous troll by her side with a penchant for swearing. The stakes are real. And so is the magical world she just visited.

Good story!
I enjoy the storyline and the characters, and there are SO many others books available, I am disappointed only the first 4 (technically) are available on Audible. I will keep my eye out for the addition of more! This story is fun, heartwarming, dangerous, and I ENJOY the swearing. I personally cuss in my every day life, and I am thankful for a book where they show that grown people actually DO swear, especially when in dire circumstances! It has always perturbed me to read a story where someone has just lost someone important or is coming up against another big bad and they're all "oh poo, not this fooey again!". It's a fun story, with characters that you care about pretty quickly on, which always makes for a great book! I am patiently (kind of), awaiting the arrival of the other books on audible :)

Most excellent series!
I am a voracious reader, and I was very pleased to find such an awesome urban fantasy with plenty of humor to lighten my days. This is why I've not to not only bought the kindle edfitions, but I had to have the Audible ones too. I can read and/or listen to them anytime I need a pick me up. No one should take pics so seriously that they can't enjoy a great series. But to each their own, I feel sorry for anyone who likes a feel good urban fantasy that doesn't read these books only because of blue language. I hope this series continues for many years. Thanks to all that make these books possible. The notes are just as interesting as the books. Lol

Love these characters esp. the troll!
Rule of Magic by Martha Carr and Michael Anderle really is fantastic! I really could give this a dozen stars! The little 5" Troll side trips from Keira are hilarious! The little guy had a bigger roll which meant more laughs! The plot was great too! Many things were solved, missions accomplished, amazing things happened, and all with lots of fun and action of course! I hope they hurry with getting more audible books finished! The narration was terrific as usual with Carly Robins as narrator!
