Publisher's Summary

Acclaimed by the intellectuals of Spain's "Generation of '98," the poems and fiction of Rubén Darío reflect a pride in his country and in his fellow countrymen - many of whom were living in despair and disillusionment. Darío, poet, essayist, journalist, critic, short story writer, and diplomat, was born in Nicaragua in 1867, and was deeply affected by the Spanish-American war. Included here are several poems - "Sonatina," "Marcha Triunfal," "Yo Soy Aquél," "A Margarita Debayle," and "Los Motivos del Lobo" - as well as the short story, "Huitzilopoxtli," which takes place during the Mexican Revolution and describes the hallucinatory brutality of war. In Spanish.

Contenido excelente autor sobresaliente

Good introduction to a great poet.

What can I say? Ruben Dario's poems doesn't need any feed back. He is a giant of the letters and I like his poems since I was a kid. I liked the audio book and the rendition of the poems and content from the narrators. Work well done. Highly recommend this audio book as an introduction. The only negative thing is that it is short and does not cover more about the live of the poet and more of his work.

Too slow
