Charlie Davenport is the bad boy of British tennis - and third in line to the throne. He's a beast on the courts and a wild animal in bed (according to all the tabloids). Girls are lining up for chance at his crown jewels, and when I stumble into the wrong Wimbledon dressing room and catch a glimpse of his game, set, and match, I can see why.

So what's a little good luck kiss between friends (I mean, strangers)? I know better than to get involved with a bad boy like Charlie. But now he's on a winning streak, he thinks I'm his lucky charm - and you know what's luckier than a kiss? Everything.

Suddenly, I've got paparazzi on my trail, exes coming out of the woodwork - and you don't know "cutthroat" until you've seen a pack of hungry socialites set loose near the Royal Family. I'm in way over my head, and even worse - I'm falling in love. Can this American girl win her Prince Charming? Or will we both crash out of the championships in flames?

Contains mature themes.

Royal Player by Katie McCoy is the first book in her stand-alone contemporary romance series, All-Stars . Told in dual POV between Charlie (the spare prince/Wimbledon tennis ace) and Emmy (the aspiring fashion designer/Wimbledon tea girl) this story is quirky, romantic, and fills the niche of pauper to princess love stories that we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) have wanted to happen at least once in our lives. I find I can really get into the light-hearted romance and writing style of this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. With just enough angst to keep it from being all fluff and no substance this was a fab book set in London and centering on Wimbledon. Enjoy!

Review: All-Stars 1: Royal Player

Royal Player was such a fun book to read. I was hooked immediately from the beginning and the narrators totally did it justice. This story was a LOL throughout the story, but also was a story that made you feel and enjoy the ride.

Amazing Story!

Ridiculous. She’s supposed to be so very invested in history, yet knows nothing about fashion history or the relevance of under clothing. Women did everything in corsets, from hunt on horseback to field work. (Even slaves wore corsets and they did grotesquely grueling hard labor in the Americas.) Women have done everything in corsets and most of life was far more laborious than it is today. Tightlacing was extremely rare and only because possible with the advent of the metal eyelet and damaging when taken to an extreme with steel boning. Corsetry was still done in the 1920s when it began to transition to tighter, but less structured elasticized undergarments, such as the girdle. Bras are far less comfortable than a corset, but work better with today’s clothing that bares more skin.
Upper undergarments don’t show process, the clothing over them does. The transition to lower shaping undergarments that were and are more difficult for privy use is not an advance.
Clearly this one example of not bothering to research bothered me greatly, the trend follows through the book.

This book is for teens who don’t do well in school, or preteens.

Adolescent & poorly researched

Very enjoyable read. Met my expectation and kept me entertained. would be fun to get more stories regarding the others in the book.

Perfectly cute and fun to read

The book is ok. I liked that there wasn’t too much angst. I really struggled with the voice acting. During the male POV chapters, the British actor’s attempt at a Cali girl accent couldn’t get any worse. He gave Emmy a deep southern accent that made for a hard listen.

The Male Voice Actor was Terrible when Attempting an American Accent
