Cackle Cackle

I have read this book, often to my grandchildren. I decided to get this audio version, to see the difference in their responses. They loved it, especially whey the witch would Cackle. They giggled and laughed along with the book.

Great for in the car with the kids

We start each morning with this book in the car. "Daddy, Broom! Broom!" It's great, we started with the book, they love it, we saw the animated version, they love it, we have this, they love it. It's just about the perfect length for a quick trip to the store, and for longer trips, we can queue up Donaldson's other books, which so far have all been fantastic.

Loved by the Grandboys!

My grandsons, ages 6 and 3, love this book. They ask me to play it for them every time we are in my car. The rhythm, the poetry rhyme, the "voices" of the narrator, and the song at the end are enchanting and engaging!

Witchy Fun

My kids love this story. We have read the book and watched the animated version so I thought that we'd give the audible a try, we weren't disappointed! The narration is well done and the sound effects add nicely to the story. At about 11 minutes long its a nice length for short car trips and the kids ask for it often.

A wonderful story, beautifully narrated.

My 2 year old daughter loves Julia Donaldson books, and this is one of her favourites. It really fuels her imagination as she loves animals. I also think the story teaches them compassion and tolerance for other 'species.' And most importantly, looking out for each other.
It's beautifully narrated by Josie Lawrence with a song at the end which my daughter loves and signs along to.

Another Magical Tale from Donaldoson

Julie Donaldson has written several of my children favourite books, and this has gone straight up to the top few. Once again the pace, imagery and characters hold the rapt attention of not only my 8 year old daughter but also my 2 year old. I would recommend this book to anyone with children who love a magical story that transports you into a different world.

Great but very expensive for such a short book

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I think the fact that you don't get the illustrations on an audio book and that it's only 16 minutes long it could have been a lot cheeper or part of a collection. Still great to comfort my daughter in the car for a few minutes

we miss the activities at the end of the story

Well read but we miss the activities at the end of the story. They engage the kids with what they have read.
