Publisher's Summary
Gay werewolves in Victorian London? Why yes, yes there are.
Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.
Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.
New York Times best-selling author Gail Carriger presents a charming love story set in her popular steampunk Parasolverse. Featuring the long-awaited reunion between everyone's favorite quietly capable Beta and the werewolf Alpha dandy who let him slip away.
This sweet romance is full of unexpected babysitting, holiday decorations, and no small amount of pining. Look for surprise appearances from popular side characters and the occasional strategic application of italics.
The Supernatural Society novellas stand alone and may be read in any order. But if you're a stickler, this story chronologically follows Imprudence, and ties specifically to events in Timeless.
Delicate Sensibilities?

About time...
This was a wonderful installment of the Parasolverse. After Lyall and Biffy’s separation at the end of “Timeless”, I have been waiting for this story to continue. I was surprised at the intricacies of the two getting reacquainted, absorbed in the events around them as they came to terms with their relationship as alpha and beta, and happy to learn more about the pack which was so much in the background of Soulless, etc.

Babies Ever After starting early?
A wonderful continuation for Biffy, Llyle, and the whole pack. It's traditional to give a couple Babies Ever After, but this time fate seems to be jumping the gun by handing the couple babies before they're even back together!
The premise of both lovers assuming the other has moved on and doesn't care as deeply, never simply *asking* each other how they actually feel, is a bit over-used, but it's well-executed and adorable to watch. The rest of the pack is fleshed out a bit more, although the story is too short to really do them justice so I hope we'll be seeing more of them. Fleshing out some new clavigers would be nice, too, now that Biffy has proven himself.
The story has a feel of "happily ever after," yet I'm eager to see what comes next, even if we only see the pack peripherally in others' stories. Will Robin be a main character in the next generation? ;-)

I've been fangirling hard about Biffy and Lyle since the parasol protectorate series. I loved this short story. It was great and I think the chemistry and the angst between these two could have easily stretched into a full novel. the ending was quaint but it definitely left me wanting more!

I'm in love!
My favorite werewolves got to be painfully sweet together! My heart is sufficiently melted. I could absolutely read book after book of their endeavors, both just in pack life, and Biffy being a parental figure.
Lyle has always been my favorite character, and I couldn't be happier to have gotten the honor of listening to this novella!

Amazing yet tasteful. Loved it!
I have loved the world that Carriger had built, but I won't lie that I was a little hesitant with this book. Her "romancing the inventor" book was just steamy enough that I thought this may push the boundaries even more into erotica. While that in itself isn't something that bothers me, the fact that it is two men would have been something that would have made me uncomfortable. Instead, Carriger was very tasteful with the romance, with nothing more than holding holding, kissing, and the occasional "nibble." With that not being something that distracted me, it left an amazing love story between Biffy and Professor Lyall that had me rooting for the the entire book. These are two characters that have been in the series from the start, and watching them struggle with their emotion had me to the point of wanting to yell, "JUST KISS HIM ALREADY!" Amazingly well done, and highly suggested.

Not much meat in story
While the story had a few cutesy touches , most of the story left me once
Different . The characters weren't fully fleshed out and seemed superficial to me. While it wasn't a bad story it wasn't good either . I love shifter and paranormal stories but there are better stories out there ( recommend wolfsong by t.j.klune ) .
I bought the Audible version without knowing anything about the book, the narrative is great job but the subject matter was lacking. It spoke of events in past ( i believe this is book 2?) But I never understood what had truly happened . Nothing felt real to me , even for a fantasy . The romance was vague and almost absent . Perhaps because the author wasn't cognizant of same sex romances . Nothing really cclucked . It is an incredibly short tale ,and without proper fleshing out the promise of a story was absent . I have no desire to read or listen to anymore of series. . There is much better out there .

A fabulous story, beautifully told
While I read the book of this story previously, listening to the audiobook was an excellent experience. Peter Newman is a fabulous narrator, bringing the story to life and really differentiating between characters. Whilst it's not suitable for everyone due to same sex relationships, I'd definitely recommend it to any fans of the Parasolverse who can accept that in a story, especially as it's so nice to see Biffy get settled as Alpha and Prof. Lyle potentially find love.

Names are pronounced so differently!
A shame the narrator didn't check how names and titles were pronounced in the many previous books. It was irritating and detracted from the story for me.
