Publisher's Summary

Tamika Cleary takes a wrong turn up a one-way street - and straight into Thibault Delacroix's leg as he steps into the road. But Mika's in a hurry, and she certainly doesn't have time for a guy who can't even look both ways before crossing, even if he does have a cute face, a body to die for, and the darkest, thickest eyelashes she's ever seen.

Unfortunately for Mika, fate has other ideas. When she's threatened by her employer, a Russian mafia boss known as "The Thief", she's forced to accept Thibault's help. As the co-owner of the Bourbon Street Boys security firm, he believes he can keep her safe. But Mika has a whole load of trust issues - and the pushier Thibault is about helping, the more stubbornly she tries to resist.

Mika may have taken a wrong turn the day they met, but will she finally let someone steer her in the right direction?

Wrong Direction

What disappointed you about Wrong Turn, Right Direction?

I was looking forward to this one. The pacing is wrong. It just wasn't as good as the other ones.

What could Elle Casey have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The female lead should have been more realistic and less stereotypical. This is so sad in 2017 to still be portraying women of color as monolithic.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tracie Christian?

The relevant question is who cast this narrator and why?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This sparked sadness and disappointment.

Love this series

I really like these books but I did not really care for person who was narrator of this one book. Her words were not always clear and the pitch hardly changed. Great story and looking forward to next book. Just hope someone else narrates it.

Bad narration

This might possibly have been a great book IF you can get past the horrible narration part of it. Won't purchase another with this woman!!!!

Review from a very disappointed fan

I waited so long for this book. I have listen to every book in the series on audible. I was so excited for this book I preorder the book and audible. So imagine my disappointment after listening to the first couple chapters. This book starts off terrible. I realize all books start off with a period of getting to know the main characters but this was painful. I started and stopped this book so many times it was sad.
The story: The story was ok. I did not like the female character. In the author attempt to make the female main character appear tough and resilient, she came off as arrogant and ignorant. I literally spent most of my time rolling my eyes. Although predictable I did like how the story ended. The beginning was so hard to listen to, by the time I got the to the middle I wanted the story to be over.
The narrator: I didn't like her cadence in this book. She took ackaward and unnessary breaks. I listen to part of another book narrated by Tracie Christian and I didn't notice the ackawardness in that book. I am not sure why it appears the narrator struggled so much with this book. Either way the narration of this book definitely detracted from an already struggling story line.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book to anyone. If you were a fan of the other books in this series, please don't listen or read this book.

Another bad narrator

What didn’t you like about Tracie Christian’s performance?

Her Russian accent is the worst I have ever heard. Its sort of like a Jamaican (occasionally Chinese) vampire. It would have been better had she not tried.

poor narrative/good book

Did not like the narrator. Couldn't stand how she wasn't properly pronouncing words throughout the entire book. It made the already dumb heroin seem that much more stupid. The book was good, did get boring and repetitive a lot though.

Really like this series but....

I am having a hard time listening to this book because the narrator is poor. She has barely any inflection in her voice. It seems as though she doesn't like the book she is performing. If she doesn't like it then how are we suppose to enjoy it as listeners.

Great story, below average delivery<br />

Awesome storyline. Narrator has wonderful voice but not enough distinction between character voices. Reading was somewhat choppy. Only listened to entire Audible to keep track of story since this is a series.

meh- not my cup of tea

When the whole series was on sale I bought it and, honestly, if I didn't already own it would have quit after the first book which I did not care for. The female leads are often eye-rolling and groan-worthy in their actions and attitudes. Also there is very little chemistry or physical anything, The narrators voice- although pleasant- did not seem to match the character which was off putting.

Decent novel but sheesh, the h was annoying!

I get mistrust when you've lived a dangerous lifestyle but she just made it hard for me to like her. I didn't expect her to just fall at his feet and beg for help but some of their dialogue around her not trusting him made no sense. I about lost it when she asked him "and what are you going to give me?" when he was already giving her the sun, moon, stars and the blinking universe!

Good storyline, decent male lead and the team were great too (as usual) but Tamika quickly became an irritation and maintained her role as irritant almost til the end.
