Publisher's summary

When you can't trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?

It's been months since Aden Colt left the army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he'd found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can - including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk. For Aden, the past doesn't stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn't care whose life it wrecks.

So much love for this story.

I've been a fan of JB Salsbury for years. I loved this story and these characters. The narrators hit it out of the park.

Just ok

I liked the premise of this book, but have to say that the Audible version turned the book into something akin to the young adult genre like the Eclipse books. I finished it because I wanted to see if it would go more in depth into Ayden's emotional pain, but alas, it focused more on Ayden and CiCi's relationship.
A good read if you like the Nicholas Sparks type books.

Relatable Perfection

Wow. I got this thinking I’d probably stop halfway through... you know, when the guy and girl have confessed their feelings for each other and now they magically need to call each other “baby” all the time or the alpha male comes out and it turns to orgies and S&M.... but that never happened! This explored REAL human emotions and experiences. And though the subject matter is dark... guilt, self-doubt, failure, loss... and... hope... I was laughing almost the entire time! The narrators were great too... their commitment to their characters definitely made it even better. I will recommend this book to everyone!

Grief move with it

Twin girls: Cecilia and Sawyer. They had very different life experiences even though they are identical they were very different. CC was the free spirit and lived everyday to the fullest. Sawyer looked at the world through fear. She couldn’t walk through the fear. Until one day her sister CC’s dying wish was for her to pretend she was her to pack up her life in San Diego.

In doing so sawyer met Aden Colt (building manager) Jenkins (old seaman), zoey (crazy friend), Brice (surfer boy/ex lover) and Cal (CC’s good friend). Sawyer successfully tricked all except Cal. Aden fell in love with CC but it was really sawyer. Fireworks ended their month long romance but eventually brought them together. Aden stumbles upon letters CC kept in the floor boards: medical records and family letters. He traveled to CC’s grave at the same time Sawyer did. They had a discussion and fell more in love with each other.
Married 7 years with a fishing/boating company. 1 daughter CJ (Cecilia Jane) and end with sawyer announcing pregnancy with Twins!

Good story about fear, life, love and how to conquer them. Aden suffered from Survivors’ guilt and ptsd. He coped with alcohol or drugs. Attempted suicide. We hear about these true stories and don’t know how to help. LOVE THEM! Don’t give up on them!

War is hell..so is love.

I Thoroughly enjoyed this story!! War is hell. Are soldiers come home with so much on them and dealing with so much negative and horrible stories. This is the story of one such soldier who almost lost it all but found love instead.

Wrecked

I wasn't overly fond of the people who read the story....but the story itself had so much emotion. I could feel my heart breaking as if it was all happening to me.

Such an amazing story!!!

JB Salsbury has once again knocked me off my feet!!! This is s story filled with so many ups and downs, joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure. It's virtually a roller coaster of unending emotion....but in the best way possible.

The story starts with the pain of impending loss of a sister and her one final wish for her twin. They couldn't me more different than night and day but, to please her sister, Sawyer agrees to honor Cece's final request. In the end, Sawyer finds herself along the way...along with the one man who completes her.

Both of the narrator's were stupendous and I couldn't have chosen anyone better. They both read the story with the amount of heartfelt joy, lust, fear, pain and love that you would expect to hear if you were experiencing it first hand. The story will grab hold and ends in the most beautiful and poetic way possible

Overall, I would recommend this book however, be prepared to shed some tears...both the good and bad kind that make you realize how alive you truly are!!! @jbsalsbury
