Publisher's summary

Cover girl Cat St. James's picture-perfect life is anything but flawless. Luckily, she's a master of hiding the truth from the camera. Relying on that skill, she conceals her latest secret from her family while attending her brother's wedding. Her only trouble now is Hank Mitchell - the soft-spoken carpenter she'd once brushed aside. Seeing him at the reception underscores her private heartache and ignites unwelcome longing, which she promptly drowns in champagne.

Hank is no stranger to sacrifice, having set aside his own ambitions to take care of his family. One thing he won't forsake is his pride, which Cat already wounded once. But when the maddening beauty's reckless behavior forces him to rush to her rescue, he sets in motion a series of events that leads Cat to make a business proposal granting him his dream job.

When Cat and Hank mix business with pleasure, promises and secrets unravel, and each must decide if and what they'll surrender for love.

Definitely WORTH THE TROUBLE

This was a great love story although I didn't realize it was the unabridged version. A little disappointing because it had TMI which is why I read Christian books. But the lessons that are there are good lessons for (younger) people, which I am definitely NOT. STILL ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY. THANKS TO AN AUTHOR WHO KNOWS HOW TO TELL A VERY GOOD STORY! Looking forward to delivery of the next in the series......Jackson's turn??? Love this family!

Another Great Addition to the St. James Series!

I fell in love with the characters on ther first St. James Book! Cat is one of my favorite characters. She is a gorgeous model and has gone through a lot since her mom died. Having a crazy ex-boyfriend to boot doesn't help, specially after what happened on the first book.

Hank is a great guy and so dedicated to his mom and sisters. Cat and him have so much quemistry! He is smart to thread with caution after Cat blew him off the previous year by not calling him back.

Cat gets some major news that will affect the rest of her life and instead of opening up for support, she clams up and tries to keep her distance from Hank. Telling him she doesn't want a relationship.

The narrator did a great job. Such a great listen that is hard to put down!

I'm looking forward to the next book. Jackson has been so troubled throughout this book! Hopefully he will find the girl of his dreams that will treat him right.

Wonderfully written

ABSOLUTELY captivating and creative writing that draws you in and keeps you entertained for hours and the characters are realistic and diverse. I highly recommended this novel, wonderfully written and narrated. It touches base on real problems in individuals and solutions that works. Great read, Of course, I am very partial to carpenters anyways. Hubby was one when we first met and I was in modelling. 25yrs later still going strong.

Unlikely Love

I am amazed how Jamie Beck develops and expresses her stories. Listening in Audible also brings the story to life. Katie Rudd does a excellent narration. I loved Hank in the first story, and was glad to see him with his own. It was amazing how the love journey of Hank & Cat developed.
I was afraid that Cat would hurt him with her attitude and persona, but Hank was what she needed to overcome her feeling of inadequacy.
This book covers all emotions and different personalities, but the story is worth the read!

Worth The Trouble

This is the second in the series and could be read as a standalone without much of a problem. Cat is coming to the end of her cover girl career and she needs something to focus on, especially since now she is dealing with some health issues. Hank Mitchell has a thing for Cat and works for Jackson, Cat's brother, and when he agrees to build a storage system for Cat she comes up with a business plan for the two of them. Will adding love and business be too much or will all the issues of family and life come between them?

Letdown

Rambling plot and letdown from book 1. Book 1 had a bit a gratuitous sex but this one took it too far. Stopped the series (of three books) halfway thru book two.
