Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg comes a new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it's least expected. Or wanted.

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I've ever seen.

But I don't want a relationship. And I definitely don't fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there's an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we're left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all.

Angst

This book was fairly long and drawn out compared to the other book “ Combust” from the series. On the other hand, the demons the main character, Grayson, faced were legitimately real and raw. However, it was frustrating how incredibly irrational he behaved in the way he handled them. My favorite character in the book was Grayson’s son, Luke. Luke gave the book the necessary comic relief throughout all the angst. I enjoyed the book and the ending but I think the push and pull, back and forth from the main characters was a bit exhausting at times.

Definitely Worth The Risk!

Another phenomenal read by K. Bromberg. Love the “Worth the Risk” theme, how something you don’t expect can make you question what you always thought you wanted as well as what you didn’t want is now everything you desire. It’s a poignant story about not judging a book by its cover and letting go of the past. Grayson is a hot dad, with the most lovable son, who has been burned badly. Sidney is strong, fiery and trying to prove she not better than everyone. Their chemistry is scorching! Sidney and Luke’s relationship will melt your heart. As usual K. Bromberg’s writing style will take you on a journey. A journey that has all the FEELS! You won’t want to put it down and will beg for more after the last word is read. Narration is fantastic and I highly recommend this listen.

Cockpit

Cockpit is a great single dad romance. Grayson's son Luke was my favorite character and he stole the show. From his first wors to the end he had me crying in heartbreak and joy.

Grace Grant, Zachary Webber dual narration was pretty good. I love Zachary Webbers inflection. Grace's tone fit Sidney's character well and both performed their parts well.

Worth the Listen

I just finished listening to Worth the Risk on Audible and it was incredible! Grace Grant and Zachary Webber did a great job of bringing Sidney and Grayson's story to life! They show so much emotion at the right moments and made me really feel the pain the characters felt and the love they felt for one another. My favorite moments in the book came at the hands of a charming 8-year old boy. Luke definitely steals the show!

I highly recommend this audio!

Kristy has written another wonderful book!

This book was amazing!!! Kristy has written another wonderful story. The story was an amazing journey between Grayson and Sydney’s relationship, Grayson a single parent and Sydney a spoiled rich brat (at first eventually matured into a wonderful caring person.) Although Grayson and Sydney were great characters, my favorite was Luke, Grayson’s son. Luke added so much to the story, he stole my heart. This book/audio is “Worth the Risk!” Zachary and Grace nailed the audio, great combo.

Love It

This is my third K. Bromberg book, and I think this is my favorite of them all.

I love how relatable the characters and the story are. I also love the narrators.

Good, but

I enjoyed the story, but the female narrator doesn't do a good job with male voices. I wish Zachary Webber had more parts.

Mixed feelings

This one had it's moments. I had a difficult time falling for these characters. Too much angst for me. Most of the time when I did, it was with scenes or chapters that included or centered on Luke. Then another chapter would start and I found myself tuning out. Not sure why. I was very disappointed with the epilogue. Gave 4 stars...5 narration/3 story

A quick point about Mr. Webber. He does the best emotional scenes....emotional scenes with the voice cracking and also his kid voice is spot on! Incredible job voicing Luke!
