Jolie thinks she’s seen it all, but life continues to spring surprises. The latest shocker? She’s just been crowned Queen of the Underworld. Jolie may possess a rare gift for reanimating the dead, but she doesn’t know the first thing about governing disparate factions of supernatural creatures. First there’s sexy warlock Rand, the love of her life, from whom Jolie is hiding a devastating secret. Then there’s Sinjin, a darkly seductive vampire and Jolie’s sworn protector - though others suspect he harbors ulterior motives. As the two polar opposite yet magnetic men vie for Jolie’s affection, she must keep her wits about her to balance affairs of state and affairs of her heart. Overwhelmed, under pressure, and longing for love, Jolie decides it’s time to take charge - and show everyone that this queen won’t take jack.
This book is a good example of why you should start a series with the first book. The story is good but it would be much better and I would be more inclined to give it 5 stars if I had been able to start with the begining of the series. I would suggest to any one who has not read the first 2 books to hold off on buying this until Audible can get them added to their library.

Some books are meant for print and others meant to be read aloud, this is not to be read aloud. It is not written in such a way that the narrator can bring life to the characters with making them look fake. I enjoy the author so I thought I would try to listen to the book instead of reading it, my mistake, I will only get these books in print going forward.

I really like the first two books in this series, but felt a little cheated and definitely disappointed with this book. It just repeated past books, as musings in her diary. I read the first 2 books, I don't need to re-read them to understand the story-line. This felt like a lot a filler and not enough meat. I will try book 4, but if it is more of the same, I will discontinue reading this series.
If you wanted to save money, you can start the series with this book or simply forget this book entirely. The narrator goes on and on with descriptions of everything from Books I & II. And don't think there was a technical issue either... The first chapter starts out exactly like one of the other books. I'm sad to say, it's the worst book I've ever finished. I kept thinking, it's going to get better, surely?! I liked the original books, so how could it not? I can only say that I was disappointed to the very end. The characters barely had any life in them. Everything was described instead of experienced. Plus, the storyline was so predictable. I came away thinking time and again, that someone else must have written this book. It was immature, ridiculous and repetitive... Nothing like her other books. It jumped around so much, I found myself rewinding the disc to figure what I must have missed. This was 'The' most aggravating book to try and slog through. I come away feeling like a big dummy having wasted my time bothering at all.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not. Too many better books out there.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Loved the ending...made it worth listening to all the repetative garb and obvious observations.
Did Allyson Ryan do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
I think the characters don't sound the same from book to book. The voices in book one and two are not the same in this book....for the male characters.
Could you see Witchful Thinking being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
NO - Maybe all of the books together could make an interesting movie.
Any additional comments?
It was hard to get through the book because each time H.P. Mallory refrenced or mentioned something that happened in a previous book she went into the story again. I already read the first two books. Just one example: I know the Warewolf is an ex-boyfriend. Stop telling me that everytime you mention his name.
this book was boring there was way to much shoulda coulda woulda that made t insane
I had listened to the previous book and I liked them well enough i had actually forgot about this series and just caught back up with it. The narrator has never been my favorite but she did much better in this book almost like a completely different person. As far as the story it's almost like the author decided to change her writing style and the feel of the book. The dear diary parts i really could have done with out and the flash backs were time consuming and unnecessary jolie was more whiny than usual i didn't really care for this book i'm going to listen to the next one but if it doesn't get better ill have to stop listening to this series.
Where does Witchful Thinking rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Did not just read this. Listen to the whole series so I cannot say!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes the next to the last book!
Any additional comments?

What made the experience of listening to Witchful Thinking the most enjoyable?
I have read all the Kindle Books. Now, I find myself really enjoying the audio version too.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Rand. He is beautiful.
Have you listened to any of Allyson Ryan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. But she did a really good job.
Any additional comments?
If you are a fan of Molly Harper's Nice Girls Series, I would recommend this book. <br/>Also, you don't have to read any of the other books. This book covers all of them. And I thought the author did a good job making this a stand alone story.
