Well written and narrated mystery

This was a great mystery as there were a good amount of twists and turns with a surprising ending. The characters were flawed and believable. The plot was well thought out. Highly recommend.

surprising

I really thought this was a good book, I recommend it for a good one time read. I would buy it on kindle or listen but I don't think I would buy the book for a reread. given to read as exchange for honest feedback.

A great start to this new series!

Witch is a great start go the Sydney Hart Mysteries. The series is set in a rural seaside community in Cornwall, located at the southwestern tip of England.

The lead character, Sydney Hart, is a complex, 20 year old woman, whose rebellious youth was spurred on from her dysfunctional parents.

The central mystery is one which haunts Sydney & refuses to give her any respite. Likewise, there is plenty of action, tension, romance, & careful clues to keep its solution as ethereal as a whisp of smoke.

The author weaves the paranormal into the plot sparingly with a deft hand throughout the novel. As a result, this is not a typical fantasy book that requires the reader to accept a whole new universe of fantastic beings & altered laws of physics.

Although the story initially seemed to be off to a slow start, in retrospect it was essential to the story. Once the story did take off, the mix of action & tension held me glued to it until it's thrilling end.

The narrator is perfect for this book. She breaths life into the author's words perfectly & is never better than when speaking in the voice of Sydney. She was perfectly cast for this series.

I found this book to be very enjoyable & I look forward to reading each new book in the series (I already have Book 2 set to listen to!)

Warning – because of the frequent profane language & it's graphic sexual situations, this book is not for young adults or those who know beforehand that it will offend them.
