quite the ride

This story took me through a myriad of emotions. Sadness, Betrayal, Hope, Love - This book really hit home for me- The struggles are very real- I thought there was a good mix of drama, steam, and mystery. I enjoyed it.

Narration was good. I would have loved a little more variance between the male and female voices but overall it was really good.

Not for me

What did you like best about Windows? What did you like least?

The narration was good. But I cant stand the hero. He is not a likable person to me.

What was most disappointing about Emily Minton’s story?

Lucas. He never really tried to make up to Lindy for his past mistakes. He just wanted to pick up where they left off as if nothing happened. He was a jerk to her ex and a just a jerk in general.

Any additional comments?

I tried but I just have a hard time when I don't like the hero. Overall I don't think it was a bad book but it wasn't the right book for me. What drew me to try this book was the narrator. So while I can't recommend this book due to content, I would definitely recommend you try another book narrated by Sophie James.

good!

This story drove me crazy at times - Lucas pretty much broke my heart with some of his actions but I liked the angst! Well written and fantastic narration! Highly recommend!

I both loved and hated it!

I hated it! I loved it! Damn you Lucas! Aww Lucas! that was me the whole entire time listening to this book. I was completely at war with myself. I love when books get me all twisted up in the story. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Best Friends, Immaturity Leads To Broken Hearts That are Mended

Melinda and Lucas lived next to each other as they grew up and were best friends. The story begins just before they both are getting ready to leave for college. Lucas is a football player and Melinda is smart yet an outcast..her weight and intelligence the reason..or so you think at first. Lucas does the unforgivable to Melinda at a party to which she can not forgive him. Every day, despite climbing in her bedroom window to talk to her each night, he shuns her..she has forgiven him before that final night. Four years pass and she moves home and sees him for the first time. He is determined to win her back..he has always loved her.
So begins a mystery as to who killed Melinda’s father years ago...who is attacking women in town...will Lucas succeed in winning Melinda back.
Lucas is is an idiot in so many ways it’s actually funny...I often believe most men aren’t worth much in knowing how to express themselves or treat woman until they are 30, and Lucas is a perfect example. He says and doesn’t the dumbest things and you hear, as it’s in dual POV, he knows he’s an idiot but has no clue.
The narrator did a good job with emotions and voice variations...she sounded a little old for a young Melinda..but it didn’t detract from the story. I would gladly listen to this narrator..I do have a couple I will not listen to anymore no matter what they are reading..narrators make a difference to me.
A book with love, separate, hurt, healing, sex and friendships. I’m interested to see what happens with Daniel and Tara.
Worth the credit or money I will listen to it again in the future.
