Publisher's Summary

He said he'd never marry. As if.

Lacey

Grant doesn't believe in marriage. It's just not for him. He says it's a false promise, a fairy tale, something you can't count on. So what the hell am I supposed to do? I've been in love with him for 17 years, ever since he first arrived on my father's vineyard. I was in high school at the time, now I'm in my 30s, and I just can't get over him.

Grant

There are certain things in life that will make a man do strange things. They can even make him go against his own nature. Love is one of those things. Lacey thinks I'll never settle down. She thinks I'll never tie the knot. She has no idea of the lengths a man like me will go to for the one he loves.

Lacey thinks I'm not the one, but I'll die before I let her end up with another man.

This is some serious BS ***spoiler alert***

Lacey should be named Loose Screw. I am trying to complete this book but Loose screw is pissing me off. I don't do well with weak willed women or women who don't display a modicum of common sense.

Ok, I was able to complete this book. it was painstaking. I REALLY disliked this heroine. She managed to work every nerve on my body, and just when I thought she was on the last one, she found several hundred thousand more to work.

At Rob's house she observes discarded underwear and smell old perfume on the sheets. He is unable to get it up for her so he turned on porn, got so lost in it that she had to clear her throat and he doesn't hear her and rubs one out on his own. All this after telling her all the ways she could use his plastic surgery services to look better and not to mention his initial refusal to give her a ride after she was so stupid to stay and get drunk when he insulted her. I can understand the lack of self confidence and harboring insecurities. I have them but at what point do you say I have a minute amount of pride that will keep me from playing in the mud with pigs.

Now, with all that mentioned, while it was the most humiliating things done to her, it was just the 1st night, it was by no means the worse. It made me angry after the part she played in the previous book. I understand vulnerability and weak moments but this was out and out stupidity. gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Very happy listener!

This book was a very intense gritty story. I urchased both in ebook and audio formats. I have to say while I read /listen to a lot of books each month, I think for the most part the I enjoy both formats and they are equally interchangeable. But to get the full experience of these stories I think that they need to be listened to. The narrator brings the characters to life in a way that you just can't get from just written words. This book, and every book in this series was amazing!
