GREAT BOOK IN THE SERIES--WHERE ARE THE REST???

Where does Whispers in the Dark rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

As a romantic suspense, this book is pretty good. I liked the premiss of the hero being held prisoner and during this difficult time, "hearing" support from the heroine in his head to get him through being held captive. The problem comes because this is book 4 in the series I have read all the books and enjoyed them. If you haven't read the other books, it harder (not imposible) to understand the relationships between the characters. Audible, please bring books 1 - 3 to your website!

Any additional comments?

Audible--please put all the books from the series on your website. Ask the publisher to provide you with books, 1, 2, 3 in the series. You did this with the sweet series as well. As I said before, it is hard to get involved in the characters when you only put out some of the books in a series.

PHEW - MB REALLY OUTDID HERSELF WITH THIS ONE

When you finish one of MB's KGI books you really feel like you've been through an emotional roller-coaster and come off spinning, exhausted but exhilarated - only to happily find out that you've got another one ready and waiting for you to eagerly hop onto for another wild ride.

This series has everything a romance lover wants and by the bucketful - a great mind blowing emotional plot, hunky alpha men ready to battle and even die for their love, an interesting cast of secondary characters, nerve racking tension, likeable heroines, passion, sex and a talented narrator who breathes life into each character and emotion into every event. You're so drawn into each of the Kelly brothers and their plight that you too feel the disappointments, anger and anguish as things go wrong but you also share in their joy when things go right.

They just keep getting better, this has been my favourite so far but I'm sure I'm going to be saying that about the next one which is thankfully loaded up and ready to play.

Worth a credit? Oh errr let me think about that? Well, that would not only be a YES, but a HELL YES - and maybe the question should be 'worth losing a night's sleep over?' and the answer to that question would again be YES.

Good Romance, Nice Narrator

The narrator's voice sounds very nice and he differentiates the different voices quite nicely and makes the story easy to follow. The writer's Kelly series is a good romantic suspense series. The psychic bend in this book is handled well and makes it believable.

A must read for all Maya Banks fans!!

I loved this book. The connection between Nathan and Shea was strong and never wavering. I found Harry Berkeley's performance to be lively and interesting. He put enough emotion into it to keep me captivated until the end. Maya Banks if one of my favorite authors and she certainly doesn't let me down in this story. This is the first KGI novel I've read and I hope all the this series is bound for audio. She certainly makes me want to get to know the entire Kelly family and their stories. I can hardly wait to begin the next one. This was definitely money and time well spent!

Great addition to the series. Great couple! :D

4.5-5 stars

This story was great! Shea is a great heroine with an interesting twist and Nathan is awesome and has been added to my list of book-boyfriends. This book has now become my favorite of the series. :D

Shea is telepathic with some minor healing abilities. Shea and her sister Grace grew up hiding their ability and staying away from everyone (at their parents insistence). While not a great life, they were safe and relatively happy until a year ago when men came and killed her parents, trying to find Shea and Grace. Since then Shea has been on the run. She made a connection with Nathan Kelly, while he's being held captive in Afghanistan and although it's a distraction to her while she's on the run, she can't help but reach out to him and try to sooth his pain.

Nathan is a brother to the Kelly brothers that run KGI (Kelly Group International), a private company that performs Ops like hostage/kidnap victim recovery & intelligence gathering among other things. He and his twin, Joe, are still in active service when they're sent on their last mission (before leaving the military and joining their brothers at KGI). The mission goes bad and Nathan is captured, along with a couple of his men. Nathan thinks he's going nuts when he first hears Shea talking to him in his head. When she pulls Nathan's pain from him he starts believing in her. She comes back again and again, helping him endure horrible torture...soothing him and giving him hope.

As Shea tries to help Nathan she also tries to find a way to get him free. She's able to glean a little info from him that she sends in an anonymous email to his brother, in an effort to help them find Nathan. While Nathan is captive his brothers have been searching high and low for him but with no luck. When they receive a couple emails with possible info on where to look for Nathan they head out again. Things come to a head for Nathan and one of the other captives, Swanie, and they end up fighting their way out. Shea helps Nathan by taking his pain and weakness and allowing him to function better than he should in his condition. It takes both Shea and her sister to help the men get away. Unfortunately, once Nathan gets to safety, Shea breaks the connection to him and doesn't bring it back up. Nathan is shattered by her loss but can't explain things to anyone because they'd think he was crazy. Nathan even wonders if he was nuts except the emails exist so Shea has to as well...but Nathan has no way to find her.

Nathan gets home and recovers but he's desolate without Shea and has problems moving on. He secludes himself from his family and builds his new house by himself. After about 6 months his family is getting worried but doesn't know how to help Nathan. Swanie comes to visit Nathan and manages to get him to confess about what happened when they escaped and about Shea helping them. Around this time, Nathan finally gets a connection to Shea back but she's in trouble. Nathan drops everything to go help her which has his family thinking he's lost it. Fortunately Swanie is able to fill them in a little and Nathan's family goes after him to help. Shea had been captured by some guys chasing her since her parents were killed. She managed to escape but wasn't far ahead of her pursuers so she reaches out to Nathan mentally asking for help. He tells her what she needs to do to loose her pursuers and to hide until he can get to her. Nathan takes a flight to get Shea, finds her and gets her to safety. Although they've just physically met for the first time, Nathan and Shea have an instant attraction and since they spent so much time in each other's head while he was captive, they have a very strong bond and know each other well. Now that Shea's with him, Nathan feels whole for the first time in ages. He knows that she's the other part of his soul and he'll do anything to keep her safe and with him. Shea feels the same for Nathan but is afraid to hope for a normal life or a relationship when she's hunted.

With Nathan so firmly involved with Shea, of course the Kelly family comes forward to do whatever is needed to keep Shea safe and find her sister Grace and keep her safe as well. Rio's team is sent to find and bring Grace home (which becomes book #5 Echoes at Dawn) while the Kelly family starts trying to track down who keeps trying to capture Shea and her sister. Nathan tries to make sure Shea is happy and is very insistent that she believe she's safe and they will have a future together because he's not letting her go. Shea starts to relax and let herself feel happy and hopeful for the first time in a long time. Of course as soon as things are calmed down, an issue arises when someone the Kelly's trusted betrays them and Shea is thrown in to danger. When she's kidnapped and taken to a lab, KGI has to pull out all the stops to get her back again. In the end, they're still trying to track down the last bits of info on who was behind the group trying to capture Shea and Grace but they're on the job. Shea has some recovering to do (both mentally and physically) but she makes it back and her and Nathan get a very sweet HEA.

I totally enjoyed this story. Nathan is wonderful (so consistently strong and supportive of the woman he loves) and Shea's a great match for him. The story was a great mix of a love story and action/suspense and I couldn't hardly put it down because I just had to see what happened next! I love the character in this series (even the secondaries) and am looking forward to the next book with Rio and Grace (which I'll be starting immediately). I'd totally recommend this book. 2 thumbs up!! :D

Crazy Ivan into paranormal romance?!

Not one clue in the first three books and here, in book 4, a plot heavily focused on psychic connections and healing powers. Once I adjusted my mindset to paranormal-military romance, I quite enjoyed this.
It’s a bit slow in the middle. The sex was also a bit bland. But, the KGI & Kelly families have grown on me.

Wow......

As if I wasn't already madly in love witht his family; this book took me by surprise with it's twist. For some reason I was definatrely rivited to this one.

The storyline was much darker and I did miss the brotherly bantering and laughing moments. However, as usualy this narrator brought it home and believe me tears were flowing along with much anxiety!!!

I am a Maya Banks fan and contiune to be truly amazed as to her writing versatility!!! I am in the process of downloading Book 5 ASAP!!

Great story, great narration!

First time I've heard this narrator-went looking for more books he has narrated. I have read the first 3 books in this series and am waiting to see what happens with Joe and Van. Great series if you like romance, humor & action.
