Quick story of YA rock band

Ashley is a new music student at the University of Tennessee...she chose this instead of accepting her father’s help to attend Julliard. There she meets Logan, who has a rock band. They share a class and his step brother is dating her cousin. The pair become friends before more and Ashley is asked to join the band...they are performing at a competition and need to replace Logan’s step bro. Over all, story was good...I just didn’t jive with the characters.

Stilted reading

The narrator’s reading comes off as very stilted. I couldn’t get through the story because of it.

Narrator hurts my brain

After several attempts, I call it quits . The narrator sounds like a inner city dispatcher from a t.v crime show. I picture everyone running around in NYPD uniforms, instead of college kids.

I’m invested in this series!

Great start to a series!
Collage romance with a classical vibe. I believe there’s going to be heaps of angst and drama. Audio was interesting, it’s not often I hear such a strong southern accent (male) with the narrator being female. It took half the story to get used to the accent.

Enjoyable

This is the start of a Tennessee romance. After having the chance to study at Juilliard for many years it’s time for college and instead of attending more years at Juilliard Ashley chooses to study at the University of Tennessee on a scholarship. It is here that she meets Logan a local who’s band Tennessee Whiskey rocks the club the Cave. Overall the book is okay. There are better narrators out there but I guess we all have to start somewhere.

Bring on the music!

Rock band stories always catch my attention. I love music and this one is a fantastic start to the series! We meet Ashley who is coming to live with her cousin Kaylee and attend college. A cello player with a Juilliard, she brings her classical music to the stage. But her talent doesn't stop there. Logan, the lead singer for Whisky Lullaby is taken with her, and the two become inseparable. But there are secrets that may come into play! Logan's stepbrother Charlie brings an air of trouble as well, and I can't wait to see where it all leads. The mild cliffhanger just made me queue up book two so I can see what happens next!

Aundrea Mitchell brings these characters to life. She is a perfect fit for this story, her voice is good for the new adult scene. She finds the personalities of the characters and each is individual and easy to distinguish. Looking forward to more from her!

Cliffhanger

I had a hard time getting into this story. I had to restart it a couple times before I could finally make myself listen. As a whole the story wasn't too bad, but it wasn't a full story either. It was just starting to get good when it ended. I won't be buying the other two books to finish this story.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
