Whiskey Kisses was a book that surprised me. It surprised me by being better than I anticipated. And I have no idea why I didn't think it would be good, but I did.

And I'll be the first to admit I was an idiot. I thoroughly enjoyed this romance.

I liked the older woman/younger man concept.
I liked the idea that she was completely closed off to relationships of any kind, yet he was able to break through those walls and barriers.
I like that despite the crap that happened in their past, they were able to move past that and find love.

And that's the important thing here. They found love when neither thought themselves worthy.

*I listened to the audio of this book and loved every second of it. The narrators did a great job.

Entertaining, engaging and enjoyable story.

Even though this is the 4th book in the series it is the first I have listened to. Each book can be listened to as a standalone.

It did take me a couple of chapters to be completely pulled into the story. It's a sweet, sometimes emotional story with a little steamy romance, a bit of humor, a touch of angst and a great HEA.

It just takes the right person to turn your world around. For Izzy that person is Holt. For Holt it's always been Izzy. If they can each get passed their secrets, doubts and issues they may have a chance at a lifetime of happiness.

Interesting and enjoyable cast of well rounded likable and unlikable characters. Really didn't like Laney. She was just annoying for some reason. Or Elle's mother. I liked the older woman younger man scenario. It wasn't that big of an age difference, but some people do get hung up on age and what everyone else will think.

Melissa Moran did a really good job with the narration. It's always a pleasure listening to her narrate a story. Pleasant voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices. Even her male character voices are good. She was able to bring the characters and story to life. Very enjoyable.

Sweet and fun listen

What made the experience of listening to Whiskey Kisses the most enjoyable?

The dialogue was great. It had some awesome back and forth moments between characters.

What did you like best about this story?

It was such a sweet story despite some emotional aspects, and really enjoyable to listen to.

Which character – as performed by Melissa Moran – was your favorite?

Izzy. She was a down to earth girl, and I felt the narration by Melissa Moran was fantastic. My only con with narration was that there wasn't much difference between her girl voice and guy voice so if I was distracted for a moment (like my active 5 yr old) I had to check who was speaking character wise, or I would get confused. Other than that it was a fantastic narration and great listening exsperiance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I always try to listen to books in one stretch if I can, but it can be challenging to do so at times. I was able to mostly do that with this book.

Any additional comments?

This was a lighthearted, emotional, fun, witty and sweet listen. The characters were great and there were a few "awh" moments. Will definitely recommend if you want a softer read. I was provided this audiobook for free from audiobookboom for my unbiased review.

I've always loved this series and this book it was just as good on audio. Excellent narrative, made it come to life.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Fun Listen!

I have listened to other books in this series and enjoy the fact that each story is a standalone listen. I really enjoyed the characters of Izzy and Holt. The ending of this book was great! My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook by the author, publisher, and/or narrator. This book has great chemistry and laughs, plus it pulls at the heartstrings. Regarding the narration, I felt that Melissa Moran did a great job, and put so much emotion into her performance and did a great job. I would listen to this book again.

5 Star Story for me

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my review. This is a story about two families that go through a lot yet they come out on the other side. There are actually several HEA each of which is a story unto itself. The main H/h are both carrying burdens that have caused them to not live their lives to the fullest. This story is a good stand alone book in this series. I loved the way their love came together. The narration was perfect. I listened to the story in one sitting. I was crocheting a blanket as I listened and I got a lot done because I could not stop listening.

Wow what a fun dance. Honest to goodness the feels in this story are so real it hits you like a ton of bricks. Izzie has been through more then any one young girl should. She has made promises and kept her word no matter the cost and towards herself the cost was great. Holt is keeping his own secrets ones that he feels has cost his whole family. Together maybe they can take baby steps to get their lives back on track. This story is absolutely beautiful. I truly enjoyed it

Now the narrator well holy hell.. I am in love with her. Melissa Moran NAILED IT, hit it out of the park what ever metaphor you want to use but boy does she deliver the story spectacularly.

I will be searching out both the author and the narrator because they handed me such an incredible experience
