Publisher's summary

In the first of a dazzling new series, USA Today best-selling author Laura Lee Guhrke introduces London's most renowned matchmaker - and a scoundrel intent on seducing his way to the altar.

She's the matchmaker...

Lady Belinda Featherstone's job is to guide American heiresses to matrimony, and away from men like Nicholas, Marquess of Trubridge. But the charming, disreputable marquess needs a wealthy bride, and he hires Belinda to help him find one. Her task seems easy: find that scoundrel the sort of wife he so richly deserves. But Nicholas' hot, searing kiss soon proves her task will be anything but easy.

He's the perfect match...

Nicholas plans to wed a rich, pretty young darling to restore his fortune, and he's happy to pay a marriage broker to help him. But one taste of Belinda's lips and Nicholas' sensible scheme to marry for money goes awry, and he yearns to show his beautiful matchmaker he's the perfect match...for her.

TW: Fatphobia/Fat Shaming

Part of the Marquess’ reasoning for wanting a matchmaker is that his father wants him to marry a fat *gasp* heiress. Nothing is said about her talents, personality, or other attributes.

Anyway, he falls in love with a suitably conventionally attractive woman, and all is right with the world.

Anyway, I liked the premise and story of this book. But I didn’t love that the hero wouldn’t have been able to stand marrying a woman who weighed more than him.

Just ok.

It was a fun read although it dragged a bit in some parts.
I really like Susan Ericksen's narration so she added to my enjoyment of the book.

A persistent Marquess

I LOVE guys with the persistence of the hero in this book, so needless to say I liked his character immediately. He tried to better himself to deserve the heroine. His chase for a rich heiress changed to one of defiance against a powerful and controlling father and his desire to be independent and self-sufficient for the woman he loved. The love scenes were not as passionate as I would have hoped and the language was mixed with modern terminologies. That aside the storyline was cute and the hero really made the book.

Wonderful!

Narration is spot on. Storyline is great. It is best to read them in order although it isn't really necessary. You are able to follow along with each character if you do.

Cold-hearted Lady Vs Rakish Marquess

After I finished with "How To Lose A Duke In Ten Days" the second audio of American Heiress in London series, I decided to venture the first audio of the series and I'm glad to spend my credit on this. The story kept me fascinating till the end with excellent plotting plus excellent narrator bring the story so much entertaining.

Hate the narrator. Story is good.

Struggled to finish listening to this narrator. I will remember to look to avoid her in future.
Story was interesting.
