Publisher's summary

How degrading. Stuck babysitting a woman because his alpha said so. As pride beta, he has better things to do with his time, like washing his impressive mane, hunting down thugs for fun, and chasing tail - sometimes his own, if his lion is feeling playful.

But his babysitting job takes an unexpected turn when the woman he's assigned guard duty over turns out to be his mate. A female threatened by an outside wolf pack. A woman he wants to call his own. A mate who doesn't fall for his charm. Usually betas leave the roaring to the pride's alpha, but in this case, given his level of frustration, he might have to make an exception. And if anyone doesn't like it, they can kiss his furry tail. Rawr!

Only a wolf can make this beta roar!

A wolf shifter meets a lion shifter, and let the fun begin!

The h is a wolf shifter and hiding from her pack because she's come into a lot of money since her mate passed... a mate she didn't love. He treated her horribly and now her wolf lacks self-confidence. Only problem? Her pack isn't the only one after her, and now every wolf wants her as their mate so they can get to her money.

The H is a lion shifter and beta in a pride. When he meets our h, he needs to have her and protect her. He even goes so far as to take on a whole pack of wolves vying for her hand.

Loved it! Each character was well written and it kept me reading.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

It's a fun ride that brings a smile to your face. Entertaining and breezy, sexy and action packed it's another thrill from Eve Langlais.
The story is brought to life by a fantastic narrator, Michael Rafkin. His description of an ice cream confection made my mouth water. He gave the characters very distinctive voices and help bring out their personalities.
Since the story is about wolf and lion expect some gore, but since the story is about people
nobody rolls in it.
The hero gets his girl but having come into her own, this woman is no longer a damsel in distress.
Truly Eve Langlais and Michael Rafkin are a great combination of talents.
So sit back and enjoy the ride.

horrible narrator!

I struggled to finish from 3rd chapter. Everyone has a stupid lisp! Yes males and females both sounded entirely dumb. The inflections were off and the narrator made this book absolutely horrible.

Love this new series

The book was not as interesting as the first book But still a good story. I think the narrator was off and that took away from the story. Nonetheless I have downloaded all 4 books. Worth a credit.

Not sure about the narrator's version of Hayder's

So, the story is really good. I enjoyed the characters and the story plot. The fight scenes were interesting and the Love scenes were just right. There's a good bit of romance and quite a bit of funnies. Hayder is a really enjoyable, playful, flirty character. He's a bit conceited and quite vain, but he's also very loyal and protective. Arabella is a woman who has dealt with too many domineering, abusive men in her time. She's running for her freedom and life when Hayder is assigned to protect her. Little does she know, she's gonna get much more than a protector out of the arrangement. I liked the story and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

The reason this story got a 3* instead of 4* is because, to me, every time the narrator said 'Baby' in Hayder's voice it reminded me of the movie Austin Powers and I hated that movie. Other than that, I liked it. Still looking forward to what's next.

I just couldn’t get with the Narrator

Please. Young women shouldn’t sound like old Italian aunties. It kills the mood. Just spend money on a real female.

This IS GOOD!

Even with the serious subject the author managed to interject some humor in the right places. When the H said "come on baby go rabid on his a** I laughed out loud". I loved that while letting the hero be a hero Ms. Langlais didn't leave the victim out of her own rescue & victory.
