Have your wine handy, this one's so sad

Extreme Angst Alert!
Oh. My. Gracious - what a way to end the series.

This is a tough review to write without spoiling the story but make sure you have tissues handy, or even better, a bottle or two of wine. This one's incredibly intense and very, very sad.

Thankfully I had the beautiful voice of Tim Todd to carry me through. The southern drawl he uses for Shane is really appealing and the young voice of Jake was just perfect. I'm not sure I could have done it on my own...

It sure shows the incredible skill and versatility that Aria Grace has as a writer, that she can pull this one off and make it work was really something. This was a beautiful series and I'm moving on to the More Than Friends series ASAP.

Partings Suck

I have been with these characters since the beginning and while fitting to end the series where it began I was left wanting more.

Alex and Shane are my favorites of the series and when tragedy strikes this close-knit group of friends it's hard to bear witness to it.

I will not spoil anything in the book except to say that I cried more in this story than any of the others and some of those (think When You Were Mine) were just gut-wrenching to read this one left me reaching for my kleenex on multiple occasions.

I would have liked to see more of the development of the relationship between the MC's and there is a lot of understandable heartaches but all in all it was sweet and ended on a hopeful note.

It's hard sometimes for us as readers because we get emotionally invested in the lives and loves of the characters we read and when one of them is killed we feel like a part of us is being lost too and sometimes it feels like a betrayal because our boys are happy and settled and that should be how it remains but not every story ends that way. But the good stories leave you with hope and in that respect, this story gives that. It leaves you hopeful for the future even if we don't get to see it.

tears, tears and more tears

Wow that is all I could say. Once my tears started they just wouldn't start. I don't want to giveany spoilers but the only reason i couldn't give the full 5 stars was because I couldn't agree withthe need of this story line. I like my fantasy world to stay that way which means HEA for all my characters in a book series.
Since the author went this route I do have to say she did a great job with her writing. It is just my personal preference that I didn't agree withthe need of this story line.
Now to go back to continue crying.
