Publisher's Summary

Galen

Lust.

My ultimate downfall,

And demise.

I'm shackled to a life I can't escape.

A life I never asked for.

Now, I'm trapped - soulless,

Burdened by a Watcher lurking within.

He wants out, he wants her.

But I can't let that happen,

Won't let that happen.

She's mine.

Somehow that doesn't matter.

I can't have what I crave.

What I want.

What I need.

As the Watcher fights me,

Battles for control,

I refuse to succumb.

It's a power I'll never relinquish.

I can't unleash what lies beneath,

Without paying the ultimate price,

And losing her in the end.

"Be ready for a book hangover!"

Paranormal romance I am told, and I think to myself, I just don't know if I can listen to this. It is not my choice of genre, but it's Kim Loraine! I love her Golden Beach series, so I have to listen. I will muddle through....but oh was I completely entranced! This book from start to finish captured my attention. Vampires, fallen angels, friends, incubus, wooden stakes, sunlight...so many intricate details are woven into this story of Galen, Reece and Sariel, not even mentioning the incredibly erotic scenes. Kim Loraine is a master at integrating the supporting cast of characters too, giving us Devin, Gabriel and even Lucifer, making them memorable and important. Passion, heat, anger, sadness and every other emotion you can think of will be felt as you read this book. I can tell you I am looking forward to book two and the continuing struggle between heaven and hell...you know it will be a wild ride.

Will M Watt and Susan Fouche...this narrating team is complete perfection.Their talent is beyond extraordinary. Will's ability to switch between Irish brogue and an American accent is flawless and Susan is able to make you feel every emotion that Reece is going through. I could not have enjoyed this book more! Love it!

"A story about obsession, chemistry & the forbiden"

This is my first PNR from this author. The writing is very solid and the overall plot is established clearly. It's a story about wanting what you can't have and the consequences of what happens when you pursue the forbidden. There are many sexy and hot scenes and they are very well written. You feel the heat fly off the page and into your ears with the great narration. These are the types of stories that beg to be performed and am very happy of how these narrators bring these characters to life. The Duet of Will and Susan is very well performed and I think what made me connect with the story even more. For those who enjoy J.R. Ward's BDB, this story has that impulsive/ fatal attraction feel that makes you come back for more.

    "🔥🔥ABSOLUTELY AMAZING STORY!! 🔥🔥"

Oh my goodness there aren't enough words to gush about this (audio)book! Absolutely AMAZING. In a book world full of the been-there-read-that storyline Waking The Watcher is not only refreshing, it's exceptional. The story captivates you, the characters keep you invested and the eroticism is thermonuclear! You'll laugh, tear up and fall in love with Galen over and over. It doesn't matter if you're a fan of romance or a fan of paranormal, this book transcends genres. It's just simply fantastic and everyone needs it. Kim Loraine is genius.

On top of all that, Will M. Watt and Susan Fouche are exceptional in their performances. Will dazzles with his sexy Irish brogue, American AND British accents. Susan is endearing and hilarious as Reece. They elevate the book stellar heights. All. The. Stars.

Great book the narrators do a wonderful job! The only let down was I didn't pay attention to when the next book comes out! I can't stand reading, listening to books that don't have the complete series! I hope fingers crossed it comes out in audio!

"Best Paranormal Romance of the Year"

I really didn't know what I expected when I started listening to Waking the Watcher. What I got was the best paranormal romance of the year. This audiobook was beautifully crafted, passionate, suspenseful, sweet and hot. Kim Loraine's female characters are innocent, strong, sexy and smart, just like I like them. I love Reese and enjoyed watching as she adjusted to the other world Galen opened to her. And Galen, as I said on Facebook, I kept stretching my neck to give him a better bite, lol. The accents Will M. Watt used in voicing Galen melted me. I think the first chapter is one of the hottest I have read. While much of
Kim Loraine's mythology is classic vampire there is much that is not. Sariel, the Watcher is the modern manifestation of an ancient soul with a broken heart. The portrayal of the angel Gabriel as part avenger of God and part match maker was definitely a new twist. This book was so good I kept trying to postpone the end while I was eager to get there. Both the voice actors, Will M. Watt, my new voice crush, and Susan Fouche are superb. Susan Fouche portrayed the innocence and strength of Reese beautifully. And as I said, Will M. Watts Irish accent is a classic. I have my pre-order in for the next book in the series and I'm counting down the days.

    "Love this book!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Waking the Watcher to be better than the print version?

I always like to read a book 1st, and then listen to the audiobook after. I wouldn't say the audiobook is better, but it's great to have along with the book. Kim Loraine did an excellent job with the story, and Will Watt and Susan Fouche did a great job on the audiobook!

    "Unbelievably good!!!"

There was a time when all I ever read and wanted to read was paranormal romance. I can’t even tell why it exactly shifted to contemporary romance almost completely; I just know it had been quite some time since my last paranormal read. With WAKING THE WATCHER Kim Loraine manages to demonstrate exactly why I once loved this genre so much: Her ability to spin a tale with so many twists on paranormal legends such as vampires and angels you won’t see coming or even expect is magnificent. Seriously, my head is still spinning from all the revelations in this story! She combines folklore, the supernatural and even religion in the most perfect way. There are vampires, fallen angels and even incubi thrown into the mix. I was entranced from the very beginning and finished the audiobook in one day – and this is a very rare occurrence for me: usually I only listen to audiobooks on my drive to and from work, but it just wasn’t possible with this book. It is just so brilliantly complex with vivid multidimensional characters and a high-concept universe with so many intricate details – and that does not even include the insane amount of sizzling and incredibly erotic sex! The storytelling is done extremely well, also spiked with quite a few surprises regarding the point of views we get. That’s all the details I’m willing to divulge right now. You have to experience this world in its entirety for yourself – and I urge you to do so, even if paranormal isn’t usually your cup of tea!

I heard so many people rave about this audiobook – and after experiencing it myself (because that’s what it is: an experience!) I can only vehemently nod my head and agree to that!
Will M. Watt and Susan Fouche are quickly becoming my favorite duet narrating team. Their work is flawless – utter perfection. They relay the intensity and emotion of the story wonderfully, that you will feel like you are part of their world. It will be really hard to press pause at all – even if only for the most mundane and shortest of tasks. And Will’s Irish accent? Just swoon-worthy! The other two main males also have their very own voices and accents and I loved listening to them all!

The phenomenal plot combined with an outstanding narration are really putting the stakes high for any possible paranormal romance I might be reading after this one! I’m already dreading the third book of this trilogy, knowing that it will be the last…
