A car accident left Matthew Price blind. His life was turned upside down and he can't figure out how to put it right again. The part that grates on him the most is depending on others for help. His staunch independence has always been a sense of pride for him. He pushes everyone away, especially the one woman he has always cared about. Now that he is handicapped he doesn't think he has a right to tell her how he feels.
Claire Jackson has secretly loved Matt for a while. When he was injured her heart hurt for him. She helps him even when he does everything he can to push her aside, until one day something horrible occurs that could destroy them both forever. As danger lurks on the horizon they both have to learn to trust each other, and finally express what is in their hearts.
Can they find a way to have faith in each other long enough to discover the love they both share?
We briefly met Matt and Claire in Dani’s story. Matt was badly injured in a car accident and is temporarily blind. Claire is a paralegal at Matt & Dani’s firm and has been in love w Matt for a while. Claire is tasked w staying w Matt while he recuperates and it’s during this time that Matt realizes that he has feelings for Claire. Will Matt give in and pursue Claire or will his injury hold him back? Claire also has a stalker and a douche ex...will she survive both? Another quick read packed with love, lust, douche ex and drama.
Matt and Claire just pull you into their story... The narrator was great, easy and clearly understood him. This was my first in the series and it was still easy to follow.
💕This is a wonderfully written, sweet book. I loved it.
Matthew has lost his sight, due to a car accident. He does not like relying on anyone, especially Claire, a gentle soul who is willing to do anything for him. He feels that she pities him, he could not be further from the truth. Claire has loved Matthew and yearns for him as much, if not more than she always has.
A plot that twists and turns, explores relationships and feelings, with action and adventure – this is a wonderful book! I will look for more of the books in this series, Unveiled Hearts.
I enjoyed James Scarlett's narration, as well. He is a talented voice performer.

I asked to read a free copy of this story for an honest review. I've listened to several stories by this author and they've all been pretty good. This one, on the other hand, did not live up to its predecessors.
Right away I knew I was going to have issues with this narrator. Was he trying to sound sexy or extra smooth? That's the vibe I was getting. First issue: he would drag out the last word of nearly every sentence. Second issue: the random laugh, chuckle, sigh that he would read about and then do or the other way around. I say random because he didn't do it every occasion one of these actions were read. Third issue: there was no difference between the male characters and narrating voice and the same can be said about the female characters. I wouldn't recommend this narrator. Sorry, guy.
As someone else mentioned in their review on Audible that this was, in fact, a stand-alone book, I have to disagree. There were just too many side stories: 1. Danny being shot. 2. Matt is in the car accident. Both taking place as soon as the story starts. That means that both of these events happened at the end of book 1. 3. Claire's secret admirer. 4. The murders that were happening. I just felt like I was missing pieces to the story, but that's my own fault since this is book 2.
I found it strange that the dinner party at Clare's mother's house seemed to be an important event, yet, her and Matt get there, talk to Reese and Nolan a bit, and then suddenly Matt's asleep in the car. Did I miss a section of the story? All the talk of how controlling and negative Claire's mother is and then she's not even brought up at the dinner.
Now, I don't know if the narrator just messed up on this or not, but there was mention of someone being happy with their four-figure salary. Lol Unless the person is poor, I find that most would not be happy with that kind of salary.
What was with Claire? She and Matt had known each other for a good while, yet, he lies or misleads her one time (not telling her he could see) and she's ready to throw in the towel?
Nolan being Claire's secret admirer wasn't surprising to me considering how much of a controlling weirdo he was throughout the story.
In the end, the story was okay and I wasn't a fan of the narrator.
I really enjoyed Matt and Claire's story and hope I listen to more. Also, great narration by James Scarlett I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
Clair has more men issues than she first thought. Her stubborn boss won't admit his feelings and her ex starts bugging her even though he is with her sister. Yes this is one crazy ride you will so enjoy with that touch of adventure and bit of danger. Fun story, the audio brings it to life. But he does not do ladies voices well!
