Publisher's summary

Falling for your brother's best friend can be tricky...and fun!

Genevieve Hannigan has longed for her brother's best friend, Wallace, as long as she can remember. When she couldn't have the man of her dreams, she married his doppelganger. But Genevieve quickly finds that substitutes are never as good as the real thing. Now, with a disastrous two-month marriage behind her, she's back in town and about to go after studly, hard-bodied contractor Wallace - the only man who's ever put the cream in her pie.

As his best friend's little sister, Genevieve has always been strictly off-limits to Wallace. Just one taste of gorgeous Gen, and he may have discovered the secret ingredient missing in all his serial dating.

But when Gen's ex-husband shows up in town with hopes to reconcile, Wallace's life is about to get turned upside down.

Until

I LOVED Wallace and Genevieve’s story. This is a fun and romantic series of a family of brothers raised by a mom and grandfather. Fun story of each finding love in their home in Napa Valley

Good, but same old same old.

On the 2nd listen:
The story was nice. It was romantic and sexy, without being crude or detailed porn. There was a unique twist in that she falls for her true loves look-a-like. Her trie love being her brother's best friend and the brother is 100% against his sister & the bf having affair, even though he knows she's always loved him. The bf Wallace is a commitment phobe ... sorta. Most of the remaining was a typical romance setting, the Girl is a perfect beauty every guy wants her. The guy is a hunky handsome & wealthy.

This small town is very cute. It seems everyone is in live with their childhood crush in this tiny town. lol! I love that the author doesn't skirt the extreme wealth discrepancies of the population. CA wine country is Hella expensive!

The narration was good, though at times it is hard to distinguish who is speaking, especially when 2 men speak.

Nice addition to the series.

Boring

Narrator boring, story for adolescents. Too many 4 letter words for my taste. I even skipped chapters to get to end. Can’t recommend.

great universe

This is the first time I have left a written review for any of the books in this universe. And I haven't read any that have been left by other readers; I preface this review with that because I may not have been the first to notice the similarities this town has to the one in the Gilmore Girls sitcom. But then who wouldn't enjoy living in a town like that one.

I do enjoy the fact that the characters communicate. They are all likeable and I hardly ever want to punch them in the throat.

As for the narrator and why she didn't get less stars is because there seems to be a trend right now that I don't personally appreciate and that is the automated voice. I actually enjoy intonation. There is some and that was/is her saving grace.

Now to why I'm leaving the review on this particular book... I actually baked the I Love You Birthday Cake. There wasn't an icing recipe included so I halved a recipe of chocolate buttercream and cherry buttercream to frost the 2 9". cakes. I'm not sure why I had a chocolate covered cherries in mind, but that is were I was at the time. It was really good and held it's own when paired with melted ice cream. I like to let it melt so the cake soaks up the cream. It was a pleasant surprise that it did not turn into a puddle of mush as most cakes.

so cute

This was so adorable. I am sure people driving by my car thought I had lost my mind because I laughed an cried freely. I love this narrator as well she is one of my favorites to hear. If you are looking for a not to long of a book that will just make you feel good inside this is one you should give a chance.
