Publisher's summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of On Dublin Street and Down London Road comes a new novella about finding love in familiar places....

Ellie has been in love with Adam Sutherland for as long as she can remember. What started as a childhood crush on her older brother’s best friend soon bloomed into full-blown infatuation. Unfortunately, it also meant full-blown heartache, as Adam refused to fall for Braden’s little sister.

But it took a crisis to make Adam realize he’s wasted too much time denying his feelings for her. Unwilling to waste a second more, he decided to make Ellie his, no matter the consequences. Now happily settled with the woman he’s pined after for years, he’s about to find out what their 10 year courtship was like for her, through the journals she kept during their ups and many downs. And though Adam may have Ellie now, he has no idea how close he came to losing her....

Disappointed in the narrator

Sometimes narators can make or break a story, and I have to say that although I was happy to know more about how Adam and Ellie got together, the narrator experience was not one I particularly enjoyed. Her voice sounded pretty flat to me.

I love the series. This story is very heartwarming

Would you listen to Until Fountain Bridge again? Why?

Yes. It is a great story and part of a wonderful series.

What about Ruth Hopkins’s performance did you like?

I think she did very well. They've had several very good narrators working on these books.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. The author manages to bring on the angst and the humor.

Any additional comments?

I wish this didn't have to be a retrospective. The relationship that the story revolves around happens in the first book as a side note. This book goes back and tells their story by way of journal entries. I feel like the author didn't have to do this. If the other readers are anything like me the don't mind revisiting old territory from a new point of view. She could have gone back and told this story in the first person from their perspective and I would have happily consumed it. The telling of a story via second hand narration like that makes it somewhat choppy. It is one of my favorite stories in the series, but for the content, not the writing style.

Just eh ...

I caught myself having a take it or leave it attitude toward this book. It does give a little more background into Adam's and Ellie's story but it's not essential to the series.

Still loved it!

This story isn't really unexpected if you read "On Dublin Street" but still loved hearing it. You get to know Adam better and fall in love with him. Although another narrator, she was still great.

Lazy writing

While I understand the want to bring things in from previous books in the series, this feels entirely paint by numbers in a frustrating way.

Horrible Narration

The story was okay, but the narrator made it worse. She read really fast as if she had somewhere to be and sounded bothered that she had to read the book out loud. Horrible interpretation of an American accent, made the beloved Joss sound like a total narcissistic airhead.

Short and Sweet!

Until Fountain Bridge by Samantha Young (Audio Edition)
Narrated by Ruth Hopkins
On Dublin Street #1.5

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ This is Ellie and Adam's story. After reading the first book in the series, while I wished I had gotten to see more of these two, I had also wondered if their story would seem redundant, due to me already knowing most of what happened. I was pleasantly surprised. This story was told through the reading of Ellie's diaries, which I think was perfect.

Ruth Hopkins did a fine job with her narration, I quite enjoyed her lilt and I am happy I picked up this book.
