Publisher's Summary

Self-made business owner Dale McGuire has always enjoyed two things in life: women and fast cars. Now in her mid-30s, she's restless and can't work out why. Then one day a 10-year-old boy turns up, claiming to be her son, and her simple ordered world turns upside down.

Rebecca Harper bears the emotional scars of her father's crimes, and now she has two rules: never let anyone get too close and never admit weakness. Thanks to an anonymous egg donor, infertility didn't stop her from having her son Jake. Now pregnant for a second time, she's horrified when Jake brings home the woman he believes is his other mother.

When distrust turns to understanding and passion, can Dale and Rebecca, two women bound by fate, make a family neither expected?

OMG OMG OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK

How can I fully explain how much I love this story? I love every part of it, the ups and downs, the drama, the happiness, the love. And also the characters, I think I'll never forget them, they live in my heart now, Dale, Becca, Jake, Sam, Val, they were all unique and real.

The narrator did a fantastic job giving them each their own voice, perfectly transmitting every emotion, both good and bad. I felt everything the characters went through, like I was there with them and knew them my whole life.

I cannot recommend this book enough, I feel like I will never make it justice even if I use all the atoms in the universe to write about it. To anyone reading my meager review, do yourself a favor and buy this book, you won't regret it.

lovely

such a touching story and irs nice to have a lesbian romance where the drama isn't caused by a misunderstanding between the two women. i loved this story and have loved every story that she had written so far and the reader is just amazing!

Knight in shining armour story

Good if you like damsel in distress in a modern, gay and funny version. I laughed out loud and the dialogue and sex scenes are convincing even if the story is predictable.

This is not for you if you are not into butch characters or if you are not looking for a well done but straightforward love story.

A little bit hokey, but overall cute romance! Narrator does accents very well! Jenny Frame is always a pleasure to read or listen to.

Another great story from the excellent Jenny Frame

I'd already read this book before hearing the audio version. Some books are made worse by narration and some are made better. This one was made magical by the narration of Nicola Victoria Vincent. The story itself is interesting and romantic, but her narration brings the book to another level. She is a true star with accents. I would recommend this book and anything Jenny Frame writes, especially if Nicola Victoria Vincent is the narrator.

not bad

This is my first audio book and I quite enjoyed it, not as much as reading but still. The characters were good the narrator was good with the accents. Just wondering how she knew what accents each character had. I enjoyed it all the same listening to it in my van.

This was a beautiful romance

Jenny Frame created some very beautiful characters, even the villian was so perfect they made my skin crawl! With Nicola Vicotria Vincent delivering another wonderful performance, I highly recommend giving it a go.
