Publisher's summary

The last thing Slade wants is to be in charge of anyone but himself, and his dog Lola, because the military taught him the high price of being in command. Dave Logan is on his honeymoon though, and leaves him right where he doesn't want to be. Just as he knew it would, the hard-won peace Slade finally found in his life quickly flies out the window, and things go from bad to worse when a child is kidnapped and Deep Six Security is on the verge of losing its biggest security contract on his watch.

With no leads in the case, Slade is desperate, so when the head of hotel security, small but feisty Taylor Kincaid, gets fired over the incident, he thinks hiring her to help him find the boy is smart. As the situation unravels though, he sees Taylor could be in just as much danger as the missing child. When a terrorist plot is added into the mix, Slade is at the end of his rope and has some tough choices to make fast. Does he save the only woman he's even considered letting himself love in a very long time? Does he save the child who is the key to keeping their contract? Or does he focus on saving the entire state before it's too late and they all die?

Becky McGraw has a fan for life

Would you listen to Twisted Honor again? Why?

I gave already started listening again. The story touched me so deeply, I wasn't ready to move on to another book. I want to take the time to absorb it more fully.

What did you like best about this story?

I really appreciated that Ms. McGraw thoroughly researched her subject, and treated veterans suffering from PTSD with so much care and compassion, as well as helping to raise awareness about treatment alternatives to drugs. This is a growing problem, so anything that can help make people realize that not all pain and injuries are visible, is really a public service.

What about Matt Haynes’s performance did you like?

Matt did a great job putting emotion - the stress of a PTSD attack, the passion of a new love, and the bantering humor between brothers-in-arms, into his narration.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I both laughed and cried. My heart went out to Slade and Lola for the losses they shared. It touched me deeply. But, Becky did a great job balancing the pain and angst with generous dashes of humor to lighten oyr hearts.

Twisted Honor

I enjoyed the book right up until the stupid epilogue. Hopefully the author won't do that again!

Slade brought to his knees

What does Matt Haynes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Matt was able to give the book life. Even though some of the accents were a bit funny it was great to be able to listen to the story at any time.

Any additional comments?

Becky has written another great story with great characters.

Twisted Honor

Slade and his sidekick Lola, a gorgeous German shepherd are left to run Deep Six while the boss is away on his honeymoon. While the cat is away the mouse will play, or should I say change up Deep Six! Slade is tired of the lack of hires and starts taking control of what needed to be done. While he's trying to hire he gets a phone call about a kidnapping and is left to fix it.
Taylor has just been told she is fired for the kidnapping of a client in the hotel. She's about had it with men and there thoughts on woman doing a man's job. As Taylor is about ready to leave she meets Slade...she tries to leave but one thing leads to another and Taylor and Slade are on a wild ride together trying to stay safe and solve this mystery. While on this wild ride together they are both faced with personal problems, and the chemistry growing between them.
I highly recommend this book for a great read and an adventure with some lovable dogs<3

Hot, Hot, Hot- Slade and Taylor

Would you consider the audio edition of Twisted Honor to be better than the print version?

Becky McGraw writes an excellent story! The characters are engaging and interesting multi-dimensioal people with their own back stories and issues. I liked Slade when he was introduced in other stories and he has become even more interesting. The chemistry between Slade and Taylor is off the charts - and Taylor sure has issues in this area! And, let's not forget Lola and Buddy! I laughed out loud when Slade and Buddy had their first few run ins at Taylor's house! This book is also an excellent introduction to a number of the men of Deep Six Security.

What does Matt Haynes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Matt Haynes has a very smooth voice that flows like honey throughout this story. He provides great variations for the various characters. He does a great job!

Allow Yourself to fully heal

Matt Haynes delivered Slade and Taylor story with humor, depth, and precision. I enjoyed the book reading it on my own but hearing him deliver the accents and attitudes of the snobbish and shoot even the dogs were on point.

Making the action feel in the moment as well as the emotional struggle in which Slade dealt with after the explosion in Afghanistan is what drew me in. He was protrayed as a fun loving guy from the outside but once you got deep within Slade and brought his story to life you seen how much he hid behind Lola and how closed off he really was. It was kind of heartbreaking but the therapy helped and so did almost losing what he didn't want or know how to love.

It is funny how he gave Dave grief but ended up being so much like him in the end outside of the hiring of the women. These men of Deep Six are stubborn but know when to hold them as well as know when to put it all on the line and save the freaking city. Security at an entirely different level.

I love the book myself being a veteran of 21years I see myself a lot in the Slate I too have PTSD but not from combat from the results. It shows that there is help out there for all kinds of PTSD . And this book is EXCELLENT. Easy to read and listen to (I did both). I hope there is more books from this author. I could read their works all day.
