Publisher's summary

One story. Two couples. I fell in love with a man who didn't exist. What started out as romance ended in hell. His words turned to razor blades. His kisses converted to fists. His embrace became my cage. His body transformed into a weapon, stealing parts of me until ultimately...I broke. I hated him. My sole job in life became to protect our daughter. I wasn't sure I'd ever escape the prison he'd skillfully crafted from my fears. Until the day our savior arrived. This is the story of how I escaped the man who thought he owned me. The transfer of my life and my family.

Yee gods...

Did this thing go in the drink with a quickness!

As I mentioned in my review of Retrieval, whichever one of these ladies was doing the narration for Claire was my least favorite. Guess who was featured in this one?

Claire and Heath tell most of this story and I was just not feeling it. I feel bad for Claire. She's been through hell. Literally. Her sociopath of a husband beat her, terrorized her and basically kept her prisoner FOR YEARS! YEARS!

She and her daughter Tessa finally escape with Heath's help then they all proceed to move in with Roman and Elisabeth for safety reasons. About 15 minutes later she and Heath are banging and talking about forever. What the what what?!?!? My suspension of disbelief abilities went on strike. There's only so far they allow me to push before I get smacked in the mouth.

I get that Heath is a "super hot" alpha dude but asking me to believe a woman who'd come out of this sort of extended abuse would be keen to immediately jump into sex and a relationship was too big of an ask. Especially when said "super hot" alpha dude is actually an alpha-hole, something I would think would be a trigger for her. Evidently not. Dude is cray is all I'm saying.

I stuck it out mostly to see how the Tessa thing played out for both couples. Parts of this plot line I enjoyed like the action sequences, but the whole thing with Claire getting knocked up by her alpha-hole after having having sex, like, once without a condom when she had to go through IVF to get Tessa?

I felt like that was hella disrespectful to infertility and couples who struggle with it.

So... not my cuppa.

Everything

This is everything the second half of a duet should be. Following mostly Health and Clare but also we get a lot of Roman and Elisabeth follow up.

Although the storyline is predictable, I loved that there were still enough surprises to keep the book exciting while also providing the comfort of knowing it will all be ok.

I love both Heath and Roman with their intense alpha personalities and I love that Clare and Elisabeth were both strong and brace women. It may have take Elisabeth a minute to find her in we strength, but once she did, she was on fire and a total bad ass.

Jason, Maxine and Andi are once again flawless and perfect. Jason managed to pull off both male characters giving them each a tenor and tone of their own so even if I were to stop the book and restart, I know which character I am picking up on.

Completely credit worthy and I will be listening to this duet time and time again.

An excellent conclusion!

Where does Transfer rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a top favorite, and I will definitely reread it again someday.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Transfer?

When Tessa finally calls Luke by his real name, Heath.

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

They added emotion and character distinctions that I may not have but in a very pleasing way.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Elisabeth's decision

Any additional comments?

Amazingly good epilogue, too! ♥

Fanfreakingtastic!!

Any additional comments?

An EPIC, nail biting conclusion to this amazing duet by the talented Aly Martinez! I loved that this book focussed on Claire and Heath's relationship!! I loved the banter throughout this book!! I laughed, I choked up with tears and I sat on the edge of my seat!!! This is a duet that should be one everyone's TBR list!

Still Good

I liked it, not as much as the first because Claire was a bit too much at times. The "what do you need, Claire?" was way overdone. Heath was too much of a pushover at times, it was a little annoying.

The narration confused me most, though. There are 2 male and 2 female POVs. Why do they have different narrators for the females, but use one for the males? It was distracting.

Narration:
Andi Arndt- 5stars
Jason Carpenter-4 stars-his narration was weird. For one of the males (I can't remember if it was Heath or Roman) he had an accent for some parts of the story, but somewhere along the line, lost the accent
Maxine Mitchell - 1 star- The whiny, somewhat screechy voice is awful. Her voice vibrates and hitches a lot. Her narration wasn't smooth at all. She's also a bit monotone.

Not my Fav of Aly Martinez

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe. It's really hard to say when you aren't fond of one of the narrators.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Heath. Heath was patient, strong, calm, and thoughtful. He was really well written and nice to listen to his parts of the book.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Two of the 3 narrators were awesome. The third, it was super hard to get into the story when she read. She was reading Claire's part. Her words were emotionless, her sentences always sounded like a strange mix of "valley girl" and a question. She did get better over the course of the book, however, every time it switched from Heath or Elizabeth, I cringed in knowing it could be Claire's part being read next. The cringing got a little better towards the middle of the book, but still just made the whole experience not great for me.

Enough with the toxic masculinity

I enjoy these books but the toxic masculinity can be over the top, to the point it’s cringeworthy.

Good Follow up

This was a good follow up to book one. It focused more on the secondary couple, but was still enjoyable.
The same narrators continue their narration from book one.

Love every minute!

I love this duet so much!. This story has Heath and Claire as the main with Roman and Lissy weaved within the story. It is the perfect storm of complicated but so worth the listen. The narration was top notch as well. I will definitely dive into more books by Aly Martinez! Highly recommend but you need to listen to both books and in order. So good! The Epilogue was amazing.
