Well written

The characters are rich and the emotion is in depth and on point. I really like the characters and the messy family dynamics. Will definitely be reading the next book by this author. Finding love is never easy and finding the perfect person amidst all the angst is special.

Eliza Andrews You’re Amazing!

I listened to the whole book in my 14 hour flight from Melbourne to Lax. It had me laughing and definitely crying. My wife had lost both of her parents and me thankfully never loosing anyone close and therefore not truly understanding what my wife has gone through, this book helped at least she’d a bit of light helping me empathizing with her. I love the way Eliza writes. Just love it. The only downfall about this audiobook was the narrator kept having long pauses sometimes between a paragraph or a break. It sort of threw me off. Regardless that was something little. I loved her voice and she did an amazing job doing the other character voices.
Can’t wait to listen to long way home up soul mountain now. Keep it up Eliza. Oh and I love the after writings that Eliza dies after he books. Keeps me inspired as a lesfic writer myself. You go girl! From one butch to another.

Loved this book!

I loved this book and finished it in almost 1 sitting. I can and will keep listening to this story over and over. The author does a great job of capturing each of the characters and makes you relate to them on some level.

Interesting Sport Romance, stuff story to tell!

Not your traditional lesbian romance, which is not a bad thing. Usually I first read the book before I buy and listen to the audible version. This allows me to compare the reading to the listening, and whether or not I feel the narration fits the story and characters. I did not do that this time around, because I wanted a long story to listen to while I travelled. I was not disappointed in the story and I do love sport theme novels. I will recommend it to my lesbian sport friends. I am a college women's basketball fan and especially NCAA Division I schools (Go OSU Beavers, Ha!). Hard to determine the exact timeline, beside it being sometime between 2002 and 2017, the epilog I am assuming is sometime into he future.(by the way I don't see them going back to 1:1 free throws rule of the 1970's. I hated as a player and referee). I liked the story line and plan to go back to read the eBook version soon, so I can dissect it better. I plan to read the author's non-lesbian fiction too. I look forward to book 2. It would be nice to see where Alex and Gram are as a follow-up to the epilog, and see all that happened to Alex and Arnica in the 13 year lapse period in the epilog. The narrator did a real good job, I like the voice and attitude. A 13 year epilog is interesting and not sure why the large gap, but I am hoping book 2 ties that all together.

Loved every second of this book. Re-listened to many parts while listening simply because the parts were extra wonderful!!! Thank You for the "Rant" at the end of book. Eliza Andrews is definitely a favorite. Great Narrator!!
