Publisher's summary

When Lily Jacobs was born, she inherited Fazire - a genie. Her family had three wishes and they'd only ever used one so Fazire was stuck in the human world. This worked since he'd become a member of the family anyway.

Even with a genie, Lily's young life wasn't perfect. To escape the kids making her miserable at school, Lily buried herself in romance novels. One day, when the teasing was just too much, she used one of her wishes. She told Fazire she wanted to find a man like in her books and she made the most complicated wish Fazire had ever heard. Her wished-for man had to be impossibly handsome, virile, fierce, rugged, and ruthless (amongst a dozen other things).

He also had to think she was beautiful and he had to love her more than anything in the world.

Nathaniel McAllister wasn't born to a life where there were such things as genies granting wishes. His life was filled with drugs, crime, and neglect. He was running errands for a gangster before he was in his teens and, even though life and hard work led him to wealth and respectability, he always knew, deep down, he was dirty. When Nate met Lily he knew he was no good for her but as virile, fierce, rugged, and ruthless as he was, Nate was no match for the pull of sweet, innocent Lily.

Unfortunately, Lily's wish included that she and her hero go through trials and tribulations to test their love. And Fazire wasn't only a good genie, he loved Lily - so he gave her exactly what she wanted.

Cute but long

This was such and interesting Paranormal romance. We start with a woman that is sent a vase from her husband from overseas. Unfortunately, when she receives this gift, her husband was a casualty of war. What neither of them know is that it's actually a genie. Because he can't grant the one wish that she wants, she passes her 3 wishes on to her daughter (Sarah). Sarah makes a wish and passes the remaining wishes on to her daughter Lily. Lily, wishes for something that's so complicated that it winds up making her future a little complicated.

I loved the Genie as a family companion through generations. He was funny and lovable and his relationship with all the characters was endearing. However, I wish he had been a bigger part of the story. Yes, it is a romance novel, but there were so many large parts with no magic whatsoever. I also felt like this could have been about 6 hours shorter. I love a details and depth but at times it dragged on... and on... and... on. Also I wasn't a fan of the hero. I know he's supposed to be like the guys in the romance novels but he's incredibly pushy. She says no and doesn't listen to her.

Carly Robbins was great. She captured the energy of the characters.

Struggled, big time

The stroy was ok... just slow. Sometimes agonizingly slow. There really isn't a lot of romance, more like two characters getting over themselves and some unlucky circumstances. Not a lot of love play either.

Not bad

This was my first book from this author. I like the reader, but the story itself really dragged in the middle. I'm also not a fan of the male lead. He's so mean! I get that he's damaged and all, but he's such a jerk to Lily. Also, Lily seemed quite immature for a 30 year old woman who is also a mother. Overall, I did enjoy the unique premise of having a genie in today's world.

Pretty good, but way too long

Where does Three Wishes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Three Wishes is above the median of the audiobooks I've listened to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Three Wishes?

The beginning set up is memorable - where the first recipient of the vase can't use the wishes because the one wish she wants isn't possible.

What about Carly Robins’s performance did you like?

She was good with all the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. It was frustrating at several places, when the drama could have been cleared up with a simple question or phone call.

Any additional comments?

It went on far too long with complication after complication.

Fazire

The only reason I finished the book was to see what happened to Fazire. This book promoted rape (we do teach “no” means “no”, despite the numerous times the female character said “no”, she was overcome with such desire that she gave into sex despite not wanting to—mixed messages!)!! This book also gave an unrealistic view of relationships (let’s leave out the fairytale genie, because this character was probably the best thing about the book). The male lead is controlling and manipulative, the female lead thinks if she loves him enough he will change. He does eventually change in the last 20 minutes of the book! But again, this does not happen in real relationships and all this book promotes is to encourage girls to stay in abusive relationships and just keep loving him until he “heals” and changes his behaviors. What happens in real life relationships...he’s controlling and manipulative, she bends her own will and self-worth to “fix” him. He keeps controlling her and becomes abusive and she loves him more to “fix” him.

Love

Love love love. This was fantastic and I love all of KA’s fantasy romances. The review that grabbed me said that this book makes all your wishes for it come true and that it does.

Magical

Dont waste a wish on love it will only ruin you and everything you really love.
Would living her wish, her wish turned villainous be worth it if her daughter got to have it all. Everything she could never give her daughter before. Would this life be worth it for her...

Dramatic, emotional, and oh so magical. It was beautiful and the author really brought me into the story i felt like i was there with Lilly and helping Tasha and i wanted to both puch and kiss Nate. The characters were well devloped and that ending. So many twists and turns and i loved it.

The narrator was amazing. Her voices of male and females characters were spot on and her impression on Lily (the child) was prefect as well! She made the story even better.
