Publisher's summary

From the Isle of Skye to the battlefields of France, Duncan MacDonald has never escaped the memory of the true love he left behind. Deemed unworthy of a chieftain's daughter, Duncan abandoned the lovely Moira to prove his worth in battle. Now, when called upon to rescue her from a rival clan, one thing is certain: Moira's pull on his heart is stronger than ever. Bartered away in marriage to a violent man, Moira will do anything to ensure she and her son survive.

When a rugged warrior arrives to save her, the desperate beauty thinks her prayers have been answered - until she realizes it's Duncan. The man who once broke her heart is now her only hope. Moira vows never again to give herself - or reveal her secrets - to the fierce warrior, but as they race across the sea, danger and desire draw them ever closer.

A Love Worth Waiting For......

The Warrior is a entertaining addition to this highland series. I enjoyed the other books in this series so I was looking forward to Duncan's story. As with the other books, the characters are well written and are easily relatable to the heartbreak, struggles, and triumphs along the way. I admired the enduring love between Duncan and Moira and the strong family bond they shared. Oh, and I loved Sar the dog! He was a wonderful addition to the family.

My only negative would be that any conflicts in the story got resolved too quickly. The battles could have been a little more suspenseful and challenging. Well, maybe that will happen in the next book in the series.

Derek Perkins does a great job narrating. His voice has a way of bringing the characters to life, which I appreciate.

Overall, this is a very nice.....feel good book.

A PERFECT BLEND - HIGHLAND ROMANCE + ADVENTURE

Anybody that takes a wee peek at ma Library will see that I love love love a braw Highlander and their turbulent romances and this one packs so much in - so be prepared, as you start to listen, because it'll suck you right in. Then, as it sweeps you away to the Glens of Medieval Highlands, you will be introduced to some great characters who get themselves involved in an action-packed, fast-paced journey with so many highs and lows you'll just hate to press either the 'pause' or 'stop' buttons.

As the adventure begins you hear of the heartache of two young lovers (Duncan & Moira) as lies and betrayal leads to broken hearts, lost love and promises with such devastating results including abuse, hardships, yearnings and longings. Then in walks an old Seer (daaa daaa) and with her prophecy comes the intrigue, danger, revenge, murder, Clan conflicts, desire, regrets, surprises, villains to thwart but through it all there's a chance at love (ahhh).

This complex, emotional, passionate, tender, touching, moving, romantic, sensual story teaches us that rather than pride and punishment - with forgiveness and trust you can get your heart's desire.

Could be a stand-alone listen, but life's short so why deprive yourselves of a great series.

Worth a credit? I think I've described the myriad of emotions and events held within the many pleasurable hours of listening that awaits you so all you have to do now is press the 'Add To Cart' button then you too will be entwined in, entertained by and engrossed in this listen - so that, my fellow lads and lassies is a YES.

SWEET! Duncan finally gets Moria!

This was awesome... I just love this series. Best Highlander books I have read/listen to in a long, long time.. Best since Maya Banks McCabe Series! The book just get better and better. I just cannot wait until Connor's book.

They have finally taken back the castle they lost in the first book, way way way in the beginning of the story, the castle that Duncan's dad was keeper of, and Connor has made that his homebase... So now.. you know book 4 is going to be sooo good. I can not wait.

Narration was awesome. Not a 5, neither was plot... not a 5, but oooo so close. The smexing needs to be way way erotic or way way romantic for me to rate a 5, but this one was a close 4...

A good buy if you have all the other books, a good credit too. A must if you haven't started the series... Start them...you won't be disappointed!

The loyal warrior and the lady...ENJOYABLE

The 3rd installment in the Return of the Highlanders Series is much like the first 2....sweet, sexy, heartwarming, and just a down-right enjoyable listen.

What I LOVE about this series is that the conflicts are solved quickly and the listener isn't waiting an hour for the couple to resolve the issue. Now that also makes it a little less dramatic and maybe in some peoples opinion not the best writing technique,

....but ....I wanted a easy listen that took me through the gamut of emotions without making me sweat for hours at every problem that cropped up!

This series is that for me...the perfect feel good romantic series.

Get all 4 and start listening!

Enjoyable, but follows the formula a bit too long.

I enjoy Highlander books that are read by men. Can't stand male voices that sound like women. I no longer even buy Highlander books (or SEAL books or any that involve a group of men, think BDB) read by women. Derek Perkins does a good job of differentiating between male and female voices and he does a great accent, though I'm no expert there. Sounds good to me.

The story itself was void of surprises, but still enjoyable. Misunderstandings between the H and the h are common in this genre, but I think this one went on for too long. Toward the end, I was ready to smack them both upside the head! I enjoyed the little boy and really loved the dog!

I should add, I read this book without realizing it was part of a series, but it was not really necessary. It works well as a stand-alone. I'm usually very careful not to do that, but I must have got this one on sale. Turns out I also had another one and have now bought the other two so I obviously liked the book and the narrator. So on to Book 1, The Guardian!

Second Chance Historical Romance

I love second chance romance novels and this was no different.
Take 2 lovers from the opposite side of the proverbial track. A well meaning father who thinks his daughter marrying into status equals her being happy. A misunderstanding between lovers and you have a great story

Duncan’s Story lives Up To His Personality!!

A delight to read. This author is so good about intertwining information from other books in the series. It isn’t necessary to read the first two in this series, but you will enjoy it all the more if you do. Nice mix of story and romance.
