Tormenting and brilliant

Once again Joana Starnes torments poor Darcy through this wonderful, sad, romantic and beautiful story! Stevie Zimmerman is a wonderful narrator, which was a pleasure to listen to.
A hint of Shakespearian in the story of suitors swapping, and yet hope for a happy ending between the right couples.

Shakespearenesque

Shakespearenesque Pride and Prejudice variation. Suitors swapping. It was quite delightful. I really enjoyed it.

And as always, Stevie Zimmerman rocked as a narrator.

I hope more titles by this author are released soon on Audible.

Excellent Crossover/Mashup

A well-written story weaving an interesting mix of Austen novels: Pride and Prejudice, and Persuasion. Joana Starnes always manages to have Darcy make my heart flutter. This story provides a perfect blend of heartbreak, angst, and recovery… AND a swoon worthy Darcy.

Very nicely done. Highly recommend

P&P with a Persuasion twist

What an interesting premise! Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion are my two favourite Austen novels so it was fantastic to see them combined in this very enjoyable variation. Joana Starnes is a dependable, solid writer and I have never not enjoyed one of her books, even when the blurb worries me a little. <insert a laugh> I do prefer variations with a novel twist, but it is difficult to see members of my most beloved couples in relationships with other people. I won’t say too much to avoid spoiling anything, but given that it is Starnes, I knew that it would all turn out well and it does. I completely understood and sympathized with the decisions Darcy made and I liked seeing Georgiana’s reaction to events around her. Getting to know Anne Elliot and especially Captain Wentworth in a different light was a highlight.

Great narration!

Lovely story w/ perfect mix of angst and romance.

This book (and audiobook) marries character from both novels so well. I’ve revisited this book often.

great book

Loved it. Joanna Starnes is a great author. Stevie Zimmerman is great to listen to. Very well written story. Just as if Jane had written it herself.

Great P&P and Persuasion crossover

I loved this crossover between my two favorite Jane Austen novels. The idea of Darcy and Ann Elliott getting engaged was brilliant. Both Sir Walter and Miss Elliott were captured perfectly, so true to their original characters. It had a lot of angst and some humor as well, but luckily there was a HEA for both couples.

It is a Joana Starnes' story, so there had to be a lot of Darcy's soul searching, she always does it so beautifully. I enjoyed rivalry between Darcy and Captain Wentworth, and their working together against Wickham. Wicked Wicky got his just deserts, and it's always a pleasure.

Another wonderful Stevie Zimmerman's narration of Joana Starnes' story. Highly recommended.

A wonderful retelling!

I loved this. A wonderfully written retelling of Jane Austen's best. The tone, setting and use of language was delightful and very true to the original. Stevie Zimmerman was the perfect narrator, giving each character their own distinctive voice.
