Best so far!

I loved The House on Tradd Street and The Girl on Legare Street, but I believe The Strangers on Montagu Street is my favorite of the three in this series. I listened to the entire book in just a little over 24 hours - and it's not like I didn't have anything else to do! I admit to being somewhat surprised by how much I enjoy this series. I usually listen to history, or historical fiction. I am a West coast person who has never even visited Charleston. But when I listen to Aimee Bruneau's excellent narration I can feel the sunlight, smell the flowers, and picture the neighborhoods so clearly. I felt a little sad as this book neared the end because I doubted there would be a 4th installment - but I was thrilled to hear "to be continued" at the closing.
If you like a touch of the paranormal that isn't so scary that it will make you hide under the covers at night, this series is just right. There is romance, but it's not overwhelming. Brava Ms. White!

Best book yet

Would you listen to The Strangers On Montagu Street again? Why?

I would listen to this whole series again, and especially this book! I can listen to Aimee Bruneau read in her melodic Southern voice for hours. The story itself is intricate and merits the extra attention of another read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Strangers On Montagu Street?

Karen White does such a great job in painting a creepy picture. The description of the Montagu house and the ghost in the turret will stick with me for a long time.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was right after Nola's meltdown, when Melany was trying to comfort the poor girl and Jack sat in the other room listening. It was so sweet and heartfelt.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I found myself doing extra dishes and folding extra laundry to give me an excuse to keep the earbuds in my ears!

Any additional comments?

The third book ends with a big question mark! I will be waiting anxiously for book four!

Love it!

This a wonderful continuation of The House on Tradd Street series. The twist & turns of the storyline kept my full attention. The narrator did an excellent job and so glad they have kept her through the series.

Best in series

In this book I didn’t want to strangle Melanie for being so stubborn and prissy. I enjoyed this book and the ghost story. Jacks daughter is a good character to add.

Book is great, terrible narration

I love all of Karen White's book, but her choice of narration is questionable. Attempt at Southern accent is irritating. I couldn't listen to it.

The Best One So Far!

I've been listening to this series in order, and this one is my favourite so far. I definitely got sucked into this story. The narrator did a fantastic job and really brought the story to life. A few things that irritated me though... The main character, Melly, certainly got on my nerves from time to time with how stubborn she could be. I don't understand her choices sometimes. And there was a dispute or two between some characters that I thought were ridiculous. But all that didn't ruin the story for me. I still really enjoyed listening to this.

Aimee Bruneau brilliantly narrates and it's a fun romantic suspenseful read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. These books feel almost like a guilty pleasure. I've already got the next one loaded onto my iPhone.
