Publisher's summary

Scotland, 1745: The youngest son of the scandalous Mackenzie family, Malcolm is considered too wild to tame...until he meets a woman who is too unattainable to resist. Lady Mary Lennox is English, her father highly loyal to the king, and promised to another Englishman. But despite it being forbidden to speak to Malcolm, Lady Mary is fascinated by the Scotsman, and stolen moments together lead to a passion greater than she'd ever dreamed of finding. When fighting breaks out between the Highlanders and the king's army, their plans to elope are thwarted, and it will take all of Malcolm's daring as a Scottish warrior to survive the battle and steal a wife out from under the noses of the English.

AWESOME!!!

Would you listen to The Stolen Mackenzie Bride again? Why?

Absolutely! Because J.A. has done it again. The characters live. You can actually see the characters in your mine's eye and feel all the emotions.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Malcom of course, his personality was larger than life. He felt deeply.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Feeling.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but couldn't.

Any additional comments?

This is a must listen. The Mackenzies in this book covers the family from the 1700s. The Mackenzies from the first book, "The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie," covers the 1800s. This book will take you on an emotional ride. The romance is on point, and I love the way the characters are developed before the love scenes take place. I can't wait for "A Mackenzie Clan Gathering" and the other books about Alec and Will Mackenzie. I hope Audible will have them.

I love this series

There's a reason I love this series and why I pre-order each book as soon as it's available. The books are wonderful. This new addition is set a few generations earlier than the Mackenzies we've come to know and love. It introduces us to another band of brothers who are just as interesting as their relatives in the next century.

I love Mal and Mary. I love the Jacobite history. I love a book that makes me laugh and then makes me cry. Jennifer Ashley has another winner with THE STOLEN MACKENZIE BRIDE. I can't wait for the next one.

Started slow...but really got interested

This is the story of the beginning of the Mackenzie clan as we know it. All new characters, but the Mackenzie brothers we meet in this book have some similarities to the four brothers we love. After a couple hours of not thinking it was gonna be good....it got great. I was on the edge of my seat at times, I was laughing, crying, and it was sexy.

Perfection

Just when I thought the series had reached it’s peak, I stumbled across this addition to an already excellent group of stories. Jennifer Ashley’s writing with endearing characters and unique storylines along with Angela Dawe’s impressive performances makes for a special sort of magic. The narration of these complex characters with various accents has been simply brilliant throughout this series. I’m forever blown away by the personalities brought to life in each and every character in this series. That experience only comes with a special combination of great writing and a truly talented performer.
Most definitely a new all time favorite couple.
Loved every minute. You won’t be disappointed.

Romance and adventure!

Reminded me of a not as detailed Outlander. Fun and enjoyable. Great hero and heroine. Ending was a bit expected, but still well done.

My Favorite

I enjoyed listening to the Highlander Pleasures series, in fact had a hard time putting them down. The Stolen Mackenzie Bride was by far my favorite! I want to start from the beginning and listen to it again! I fell in love with every character in the series but Malcolm stole my heart!

Uncharacteristically Unique!

Beautifully incorporating the Battle of Culloden.
Unique and enjoyable to listen to and unsure of where the story will eventually lead, even up to the end!

Pretty good... I enjoyed it!

I enjoyed this book, it wasn't as good as the books in the series but I did like it and it's good to know that she can follow up with more of the Mackenzie Clan, I am looking forward to reading more of the other books in the series to come.
