Publisher's Summary

Seduction hotter than stolen jewels in this new series from the New York Times bestselling author of Big Rock.

Bounty hunter Jake Harlowe knows how to track a criminal. So when a group of swindled shareholders hire him to trail their former CEO, Jake expects a quick trip to the Cayman Islands to close another case. Until a devastatingly beautiful woman gets in the way.

Steph Anderson is visiting the Caymans for a rock climbing and dive trip - or so she tells Jake. She's really trying to find out whether or not her stepfather embezzled money from his company. The last thing Steph needs is the distraction of a sexy, charming man whose kisses drive her wild.

Soon, the pair discover they're after the same target - and millions in jewels. While Jake can't be certain Steph isn't working for her stepfather, and Steph can't be certain Jake isn't after the diamonds for himself, they can agree the heat between them is intense, and neither can deny the passion for long.

But the morning after, Steph discovers that she just might have slept with the enemy, and now she'll have to outwit him to get everything she needs....

    "A True Gem!"

Wow! This was my first Lauren Blakely story, and I was really impressed! The characters and plot were both well thought out, and developed.

Jake's character was smart, caring, and hot! I loved he was great at his job, and serious about taking care of his family. When he meets the confident, but cautions Steph, the chemistry between them was instant, and the flirty banter was heated and sexy. While they didn't trust each other, they teamed up to investigate Steph's stepfather, and the mystery regarding the "alleged" embezzled money. However, with each new meeting, encounter, and kiss, more fuel is added to their growing attraction for each other, and the sexual tension between them reaches combustible levels!

The narration was fantastic! Sebastian York has a great voice, and does an excellent projecting the different emotions throughout story!

But, ho, boy! The cliffhanger! Oh, It's a good thing I've already decided to get book two as soon as it is released, as well as checking out other stories by Lauren Blakely......so I guess I can live with the cliffhanger...... even if it is a very suspenseful cliffhanger!

Awesome story, and Kindle Unlimited deal!

    "Sexxxy!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Sapphire Affair to be better than the print version?

Um, lemme think... YES! Sebastian York could read a text book and it would sound sexy.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that I "get" the authors sense of humor. I am a huge fan, and this book did not dissappoint.

Have you listened to any of Sebastian York’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and my only thought about how this could have been better was that I wish it were a dual or duet narration. I've listened to him by himself and with other voice actors, and he never dissappoints.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Boom chicka bow wow!

    Any additional comments?

Nope. It's a sexy romantic comedy. With a heist... enough said! I'm looking forward to book 2!

    Story
    "Its only 1/2 the book"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I really enjoy Lauren Blakely, but I am annoyed by this book. I enjoyed this story up until it ended in the middle of it. It just stopped half-way through right when a crucial situation happens, and I'm told I need to buy another book to find out what happens. Basically, I used one full credit for only half a book. That's annoying.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like Jake although I'm almost always more drawn to the male protagonists. I do like Stephanie.

What does Sebastian York bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love his voice and often choose a book because he's reading it.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I'm annoyed that it's not the whole story even though I paid for a whole story.

    Any additional comments?

As I've mentioned, this story isn't finished and so I'm annoyed that I paid a full credit for only half the story. I understand that it was broken up in two books, but that wasn't clear when I used a credit. Yes...there is a teaser in the description, but when I read it, I figured the rest of the story would be about how "she'll have to outwit him to get everything she needs...." Turns out that's not the case. I have to buy the next book to find out.

"No ending?? Don't waste your time on this cliffhanger!"

What a waste of time and a huge disappointment to listen to this audiobook for hours while on a trip, only to discover that the author uses the cliffhanger ploy to try to trap readers into purchasing the next book. Not only will I NEVER purchase additional books to reward this deceptive practice, the book wasn't that great to begin with. I guess the author knew that, so she decided maybe she could make a few bucks by tricking people into buying subsequent books in the series to find out what happens. Frankly, I don't care what happens to these characters and would find it next to impossible to trust an "author" who "ends" a book by simply stopping in the middle of the story. For the author's sake, I sincerely hope she recognizes what a huge mistake this deceitful practice is and changes her ways. Cliffhangers are an indication that the author has no confidence in her writing skills.

    "1/2 a book. Not fair"

This story is off to a good start but ends abruptly. I enjoy the author normally but only when series books are complete books. This was 1/3 to 1/2 a book and had a slow start. I would rather pay a bit more and have a complete story because this just stops when the story is getting interesting. It leaves the reader unsatisfied. I'll be more careful purchasing one of these again.

This was only half a story and not satisfying at all, Even the half I listened to was just OK. I won't waste my time continuing with this series.

    "Cliffhanger"
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Enjoyed the book and the story, great narration but I hate cliffhangers. This book isn't the first part of a series, it totally leaves you hanging.

What could Lauren Blakely have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The two parts should have been one book. It was a cheap trick to separate them.

    Any additional comments?

Won't buy any more books from this author unless they specifically say that they are standalone novels.

    "An Excellent Story (So Far)"

Part One of this 'romance on the job' has had me hooked from very early on. Another excellent story line from Lauren Blakely and performed brilliantly by Sebastian York. I don't want to give anything away as it is a two-parter! You'll just have to read it yourself, but I would definitely recommend this book!!
