Publisher's summary

Marie Carrington is running from a host of bad memories. Broke and desperate, she's hoping to find safety and sanctuary on Prince Edward Island, where she reluctantly agrees to help decorate a renovated bed-and-breakfast before it opens for prime tourist season.

Seth Sloane didn't move 3,000 miles to work on his uncle's B and B so he could babysit a woman with a taste for expensive antiques and a bewildering habit of jumping every time he brushes past her. He came to help restore the old Victorian - and to forget about the fiancée who broke his heart.

The only thing Marie and Seth agree on is that getting the Red Door Inn ready to open in just two months will take everything they've got. Can these two wounded souls find hope, healing, and perhaps a bit of romance on this beautiful island?

The Red Door Inn

Totally enjoyable clean romance with characters that touch your heart. It blessed me during a difficult time.

Enjoyable book, strange narration

This was my first Liz Johnson book and I really enjoyed it. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series and more books by her. I loved how there was more to the story than just romance and the faith message was beautifully written in. Enjoyed all the characters and look forward to getting to know them more in the other books in the series.

The narration was strange. Seems like this book may have been recorded by two different narrators and the editing was poorly done. There were several instances where the narrator would change for just a few seconds and then switch back to Amy. Amy was an okay narrator but would have liked more distinction when narrating the different voices. Sometimes was difficult to tell which character was speaking.

Lovely story

The story about Marie was sweet, heartbreaking and honest. The author did a great job delving into her character and explaining a panic attack. It was so real I could picture it and almost feel it. The main characters were well developed although I wish I understood more about her background and her dad. The ending was good and hinted at wrapping up some loose ends.
I do agree with other reviewers that although I liked the story I did have a hard time with the narrator. Can’t put my finger on it but she made the story feel flat, robotic and less full of emotion than the words portrayed.
I may choose to read this book just to see if it “feels” more alive. I’d love to listen again with a different narrator.
Overall a good read, story and characters with life’s real trials outlined and dealt with. I’d recommend reading it over listening to it.

Two readers?

The story itself was good and I got used to the narrator pretty quickly. However, a few times, it sounded like someone else reading, but only for a few lines.

Sweet story.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed the character development and the sweet romance. The narrator did a good job with the different POVs. This has Christian themes, but felt natural. Content warning: the FMC was raped (not described in any detail).

Let God Heal

This is my first listen of Liz Johnson. Sometimes we befriend strangers and they become our family. I love this story and have greatly enjoyed Audible Escape. I hate to see it go. Amy Melissa Bentley did a great narration of this book. (There were a few glitches)
I loved the history details of The Red Door Inn and how it became a Bed and Breakfast.

Interesting setting but disappointing growth.

Dragging... Very little development. Can be summarized and while story told in a chapter. Disappointing
