Publisher's summary

On the path to love, will Elizabeth ever catch up?

In this sweet modern variation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Fitzwilliam Darcy has been his usual prideful/arrogant self and Elizabeth Bennet would rather have gum stuck to her shoe than be stuck in a room with him.

When the turmoil of having a pre-teen sibling reach puberty knocks Darcy off his pedestal, his only saving grace will be the one woman who confounds him, teases him, torments him, and intrigues him.

They say love is blind, but is it totally insensible as well?

Follow along as Elizabeth's journey to happily-ever-after is filled with obstacles, roadblocks, and her own obliviousness to Darcy's growing affections. Will she ever find her way?

Sweet Modern Variation

In this modern Pride and Prejudice variation, a stuffy Darcy insults Lizzy at the local pizza parlor. Every encounter after that only intensifies Lizzy's dislike, until Darcy has a problem with his sister Gianna that only another woman can solve. He reaches out to Lizzy, and she's happy to help. Lizzy gets to see another side of the proud man, and it touches her heart.

I really liked this variation, such a cute plot! I loved watching Lizzy and Darcy take care of Gianna, and Darcy's love for the girl was obvious. I think the author pegged Lizzy as an author perfectly, I can imagine a modern Lizzy hunched over a keyboard creating her own swoon-worthy leading man. I liked the narration, and think this novella is definitely worth checking out.

The Perfect Gift

This was a bit different for a pride and prejudice book. It takes place in modern day. Yet the characters have the same morals and standards. The book was sweet with the usual pride and prejudice flair. Great job on the narration.

Fun, quick listen!

A quick, enjoyable listen, this modern day take of Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful diversion for a rainy morning. The banter between the characters of Darcy and Lizzie is so much fun. Their growing relationship while entertaining Darcy's teenage sister Giana flourishes. While they are from different worlds, they are able to see each other for who they are and not for what their facades were showing. Giana and Lizzie's friendship is sweet and loving, very refreshing to listen to.

Wendy Rich Stetson has a wonderful voice and gives a warm performance for this story. She has a way of giving each character their own personality and makes you want to listen. I enjoy her narrations and always look forward to them.
