Publisher's summary

Award-winning author Lori Copeland has written more than 50 Christian romance novels. Her best-sellers are highly entertaining stories that affirm upstanding principles and values. The Peacemaker, first in the Men of the Saddle series, is set in rugged Missouri at the end of the Civil War.Wynne Elliott is tracking down Cass Claxton, the scoundrel who ran off with her money just before the start of the war and left her standing at the altar. Now that the fighting has ended, Wynne wants her revenge. But she never expects Cass' older brother, the handsome Cole, to steal her heart. Can an obstinate, "addlebrained" Southern belle be a match for this intractable, "pompous idiot" cowboy?

Can't wait to read book 2

I'm in love with the Claxton men and can't wait to read all four books in the series. Humor and sweet romance is what Lori Copeland brought to this book.

Very entertaining!

The characters were inspiring, and fun. Thankful that the message of salvation is in all her books. Highly recommend this author.

Cute storyline but narrator ruins it!

Lori Copeland is one of my favorite inspirational authors; I enjoy the humor she uses to develop the storyline and characters. Though this is not one of her best writings, it would have still been enjoyable IF the narrator had not ruined it. Riddett's reading was choppy and stiff, making the characters seem old and cranky. I would skip the audible book, buy a hard copy to enjoy instead. (I didn't even finish it since I just couldn't take it anymore!)

Character fail,

Excessively and painfully dumb main character with a lame story. Prevents any interest in the series. Narration was the only positive.
