Publisher's summary

It's been 12 years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed, and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both 14. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there's a complication to their instant feelings for one another - Will, Tru's boyfriend of two years.

Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse - travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

Juvenile dialog, angst, Hot sex....

The book has good premise and it is just trashed by this juvenile angst of I cannot make up my mind. Of the 3 or 4 books I have purchased with this same storyline more or less. Love Unscripted, Thoughtless, Effortless; maybe this was the best. You have great characters, interesting people,I think the setting was good. Oh but we really didn't get much of the scenery. The dialog just makes you want to bang your head against a wall.
I won't be purchasing the remaining books either.
Personal but I don't like this narrator in this context. Her voice pattern has is difficult for me.

Great Story, but...

This was a great story, but the voice of Jake was so off-putting! Only worked when he was yelling. Also, Tru was not very sympathetic, I hope the rest of the series is better!

Loved it

I loved their story. Even though what happened with the boyfriend was wrong and sad, I still loved their story. I couldn’t get enough

I’ve never hated a female character so much.

Don’t get me wrong I finished this book but it was a hate listen mid way. Tru is so aggravating and is so fu*king annoying, SPOILER ALERT AHEAD she is a 1 cheater, 2 she had every opportunity to do the right thing and still doesn’t, 3 she hurts people left and right with little regard, 4 she is a borderline pick-me sometimes. Honestly Jake is better but not much, he knows that Tru is in a relationship but is still pursuing her and actively flirting not to mention that he comes back into Tru’s life with every intention to claim her knowing she can’t say which is snake like, I can’t fault him to much for relapsing because addiction is hard, I do hate the whole “I live for you and I would die without you” normally I don’t mind this in books but he seem to be on the ledge. Back to Trudy she is a trick for throwing Jakes addiction in his face. I truly hate this character. I’ve seen 13 year olds with a crush have more emotional maturity than Tru. Regardless writing a book is hard and very impressive; The concept was good but the execution left so much to be desired.

Very good BUT

I LOVED Jax! Tru was annoying at times. I don’t want to spoil the story too much but she was quite a hypocrite most of the time.

Loved the Emotion!

So I really loved the emotional connection our characters had.

But the heroine drove me crazy sometimes with her childishness and insecurities. The misunderstandings that could have been prevented if she'd have LISTENED to him instead of run away drives me crazy.

Still a great love!

Cheater cheater two men eater.

This book was just horrible. Spoiler this book is 13 hours of the h being a cheater. She's a dirty cheating skank, and hypocrite, and a B--ch. And not only is she cheating on her boyfriend with Jake and flaunting it in front of jake, she treats Jake like a dirty little secret and gets angry when Jake talks to another woman as if she has the right. This was 13 hours of ridiculous. I listen to books to get away from everyday drama, but there was so much more drama in this book than on any soap opera I have ever watched. Not to mention there was too much inner dialogue. And let's be clear. She was cheating on her boyfriend emotionally way before the physical part.
So let's some up this 13 hours of stupid.
Girl loves her boyfriend, girl meets up with old friend. Girl flirts with old friend continuously while having sex with boyfriend. Then girl sleeps with friend and continues relations with boyfriend. Oh and girl gets ticked when friend is with another girl. She wants her cake and eat it too.Ugh!
I had to quit reading halfway through because I was getting angry at work. I dont mind a little angst in my stories but cheating is a hard limit for me. Frustrating.

good story but a slow start

This book was good, but took a minute to get moving. it was also rather predictable until ch. 25 or so. The narrator was great and kept me entertained.

I tried to like this one.

This book is so full of toxic situations and selfish characters. I couldn't like either main character no matter how hard I tried.
