Love the writing. I am a fan of Beatrice Small. This is a different perspective.

Strange book

I read a lot of historical romance and love a good smut book. But this one was just kind of strange. Tons of plot holes, weird sex scenes, unbelievable plot twists...I dunno, it was just weird. The Way sex was described was honestly so unsexy sometimes that I ended up just laughing or cringing- which defeats the purpose of a good erotic novel. I even started texting my husband all the weird descriptions and he said "is this a book about sex with aliens?" And that sums it up.

Romance Bookie

A reviewer mentioned that this book wasn't memorable, But I beg to differ. Very well written, characters were well-developed, and plenty of passion. If you are looking for a bunch of raunchy sex scenes this book is not for you. This novel is full of verbal eroticism and is more sensual than sexual.

The Lady's Tutor is one of my all-time favorites, so I was excited to see this on Audible . There is only a single reason why I gave it 4 Stars. When I read a romance novel I hear a mans voice in my mind when a man speaks in the book. This book only had one narrator; a woman, Lulu Russell who do a fabulous job for the women characters. Yes she threw her voice, dropped octaves but still. You knew a woman was narrating. I wish that authors would request for both Men and Women narrate their books. That is my only issue with this.

Liked it - a slow burn

A Victorian Period Piece. Most of the book is flirty, but there are some hot scenes at the end. The story is slow to get started, but is complex and intriguing once it gets going.

What a great read aka audible!

The book was very enjoyable, the way Ms. Schone writes is incredible. She set the tone very slow with great thought and dept, With little known facts about this time in history. I love that! The Lady's Tutor need to be read by all romantics! Lulu Russell was Amazing! She gave such a colorful picture to the characters.I will look for other books she has narrated. Great read! I will buy the print copy as well.

Wow!

This was a surprise! So sensual, so sexy, and so educational, The Lady's Tutor was a very fun ride.

I do have to admit there were moments of TSTL for the heroine --- why does every woman in historicals have to disregard the fact that someone wants to kill her, and run off by herself? This one does it over and over again, but the rest of the book is so good that you really won't care.

My only suggestion is to rerecord this with Nicolas Boulton as the reader -- then it would be total a work of art!

Nice, sexy, not memorable

This story is more a sensual novel than an erotic novel IMO. No sexual encounter occurs until half-way into the 2nd half of the story, though sex is talked about as lessons. But the talk is not explicit and uses more euphemisms and implied statements to maintain some respectability for the h. I tired of the H’s (Ramiel) Arabic nickname for the h (Elizabeth). And I tired of everything the H said being spoken in a slow, sensual, languid rate. Even though seduction was most of this story, and thus, the languid vibe was appropriate, it seemed overdone after a while. No one talks to their lover like that all of the time; do they? It could just be me. The surprise conclusions were good and not completely foreseen, at least not in the way or to the degree that the author reveals it. Overall, it’s a good story; it’s plausible and written well. But I didn’t rush to the story each day, nor did it stay with me afterwards. So….

Unique and Captivating Storyline

This is the first time I have read this author and I am very impressed. She surpasses most other writers of erotica in her ability to demonstrate the provocative power of words and images. This book is what erotica should be in IMHO--sensual and arousing in the context of an evolving love story.

Different is Good

This is my first time experience this author and the book surpassed my expectations. Once I got started, I couldn’t turn it off. Nothing “cookie-cutter” about it - which is refreshing in this genre. The storyline was original and well done. Narrator wasn’t my favorite - the main characters voices were a bit inconsistent and the male voices were a bit odd. I’d love to listen to this with a really good male narrator instead. If you like a well-balanced/written story that’s not entirely predictable in nature with interesting characters this is for you. The (extra long) steamy scenes are well done and tasteful - not crude or uncomfortable in any way.

If you get uncomfortable with sexual details, thus is NOT for you.
