Publisher's summary

Laird Jamie Montgomery is a warrior with a mission. When he travels to the northern Highlands on the orders of William Wallace, temptation in the form of an alluring lass could be his undoing. Lady Lorna Sutherland can't resist the charms of one irresistible Highlander. Though she's been forbidden, she breaks every rule for the pleasure of his intoxicating embrace. When their love is discovered, Jamie is tossed from Sutherland lands under threat of death. But danger can't keep the two of them apart. No matter what perils may try to separate them, Lorna and Jamie swear they'll find a way to be together.

Best yet in series

I loved this story. It was believable. I wondered why this one was so late in the series, for their story happened before all of the others. Still, I think it was the best.

Sweet Story

Any additional comments?

Really sweet medieval story of alliances, honor, war and forbidden love. Both leads were easy to like. Lorna had a small case of shrewitis but she got over it fairly quickly. Jamie Montgomery *Sigh* - What can I say? He's everything a girl could expect in a highlander. Secondary characters were there but not as prominent, except for Magnus (IMO). Reading this is making me re-visit the series. It was a sweet HEA. Recommended! 4.5

Actually the prequel...

READ THIS FIRST! It is NOT BOOK 7! It is actually the prequel to the "Stolen Brides" series. After listening to the entire series, this book seemed odd as it took place prior to the other stories. Why is it book 7? I remember Lorna being alluded to in the previous stories. Initially, I thought Chapter 1 might be a second prologue. But, no. It wasn't until I went to check something in Goodreads that I noted The Highlander's Temptation was listed as 0.5 the prequel.
It is a great story. It introduces the Sutherland family who dominate the series. The focus is on the oldest daughter, Lorna, who is 10 years younger than her oldest brother; she has 3 older brothers and one younger sister. As is normal for the time period, Lorna has been promised at birth. Of course, that's not who she wants to wed. Have to read / listen to the story to find out what happens.

book number

Where does The Highlander's Temptation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

according to audible this is book 7. But according to the series this should be book 1. I was very disappointed to listen to this book when I knew what going to happen.

kept falling asleep

I just couldn't get into it. It was pretty mundane. The narrator was good which is why I gave it a 4 instead of the 3 it deserved.

Eliza Knight, what a fantastic story!

Laird Jamie Montgomery, was near
the Sutherland lands when they heard
screaming. He saw a young lass,
Lady Lorna Sutherland running from
the scene of her Parents and Brothers
murder. Jamie never forgot Lorna, years
later he sees her again, she remembers
him as her Hero! Thus begins a beautiful
story of love, forgotten betrothals made
for children, wars, angry brothers.
What a beautiful story, great narrator.
