Publisher's summary

There is nothing the Unseelie King can’t acquire. That is until he meets Fionna Cathbad, a fierce Druid, who won’t bow to anyone. Especially Lars. The Demon King has every right to kill her. Her treasonous acts against the crown are indisputable. But she is the key to the one thing he wants more than anything: the Cauldron of Dagda.

A powerful treasure that no fae, even the King, should possess. To get what he wants, Lars discovers the very thing that forces Fionna to help him. This leads them down a treacherous path because it’s not only Fionna who is deceiving him.

His own mind is starting to turn on him, twisting his sanity, and releasing the demon he keeps pinned up. As old ghosts and new foes step into this game, Lars needs to find the cauldron before all is lost.

Narration is awful

The narration on this book is awful. I actually missed key plot details - a friend pointed them out - because I was rushing through this. I’m committed to the story, but dear god can’t we get decent narrators?!

Action, suspense, twists, and turns.

Whew! What a setup for the final book of all THREE of these series (totaling 13 books in all)…”not everyone will make it out alive”. Well 💩…

This is the book we finally get a peek inside the mind of Lars, the demon Unseelie King, whilst on a treasure hunt with the powerful Druid, Fionna.

𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘵, 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘯? 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳.

We got action, we got suspense, we got twists and turns, and we also got 🌶️! I thought the tension between these two characters was the best out of all three series. And when that tension finally paid off, they went all in.

What this book is giving:
✅ Enemies to Lovers
✅ Forced proximity
✅ Mates
✅ Dual POV
✅ Badass FMC

Great seeing a different side to these characters

I will say for part of this book I was furious with Lars, so mad that I wanted to throw my phone. I don’t like who he stooped down to being but I am glad he made up for it later. I really enjoyed getting to see a different side to Lars, a softer side finally. Fionna gave him a run for his money, she is feisty and stubborn. Fionna is Lars equal even if he doesn’t want to admit it, she is super powerful. I love the slow burn of their relationship. At first I didn’t know how they would ever get along but things change, people let down their walls so others can see the truth. I was shocked at who showed up and devastated with what occurred.

Awful narration

The narration was TERRIBLE. I legit listened to the first 2 chapters, decided it wasn't worth any key details I would obtain. Skipped to the epilogue and moved on with life. The narration of this book is so bad it should be considered a war crime. I'd rather eat a dozen Popeyes biscuits during peak summer in dry sweltering heat with no water than subject myself to 11 hours of this painstaking grueling experience. If I were given 2 choices between believing Amber Heards lies or listen to another chapter of this attack on humanity, I'd happily sing the gospel of metoo. I'd rather sleep in a bathtub filled with Legos than tolerate 1 more minute of this nonsense.

Ultimately I didn't like the narration. However I'm enjoying the overall story.

Female narrator is awful.

I mean awful. She sounded like a robot - actually- no robot would sound as annoying as she did. Ever single sentence was pronounced the exact same way with the ending almost like a question. Drove me mad. The male narrator was good, but the audiobook as a whole is awful because of her.

I couldn’t get used to it and ended up downloading the book. They really need to replace her part, it’s truly terrible.

story was great, female narrator was not good

I loved is story and was so excited to get to Lars and Fiona. Then the female narrator started and I wanted to stop listening. Her cadence is weird and off. It's almost like a weird AI. I think it would be much more enjoyable to have someone else narrate.

This book and narrators was SO MUCH BETTER!!

I swear the narrators can make or break a audible book.
Plus this book the characters we're so annoying and the story is just better.
I do wosh this Author would let some happy good things happen more often and let the good guys win big for once. This is the beat book so far.
But I absolutely HATE THE ENDING! Its total crap and BS!

Wonderful book, tough to listen to female voice

Love love love the story and I have read every book involved in this fictional world. However, the female voice actress dropped the ball on this one. the Male actor does wonderful with Lars but it is hard to connect to Fiona.
