Publisher's Summary

Enjoy another witty, emotional book in New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Erica Ridley's fan-favorite Dukes of War regency romance series!

Miss Katherine Ross is a wealthy, eccentric socialite who knows precisely what she wants. No husband. No children. No candlelit tête-à-tête with the insufferably emotionless Duke of Ravenwood. She's convinced his heart is ice - until she touches that chiseled chest for herself. One lapse in judgment is all it takes to turn both their lives topsy-turvy.

The Duke of Ravenwood isn't cold and haughty, but a secret romantic who has always dreamt of marrying for love. Instead, he gets Miss Katherine Ross - a headstrong hoyden intent on unraveling his carefully ordered world. He doesn't know whether to kiss her or throttle her. Can they survive each other's company long enough to turn a compromise into love?

"Loved the book and the narration.."

So, a ridiculously stuffy duke finds himself compromised with a happy, look-at-everything-with a positive-attitude female he tells himself is not proper at all and doesn’t want to make her his duchess, even though he has to. I absolutely loved Kate’s attitude, and how she thought of Ravenwood and what the truth really was. He was shy, had his own garden and wrote poetry, and loved his friends and family deeply. The more Kate found out about Ravenwood the more she loved him.

There was some sweet desire in this book, plus the fear Kate had to overcome about getting pregnant and either her or her baby dying. It was a long while before they consummated their marriage, since the first night didn’t go so well.

This is my first book by this author, because so many reviewers made me think she wrote G-rated books. Well, she doesn’t! It’s not all that explicit but the sex is just so romantic, at least in this book. The desire may not come until they kiss but it was there. I will definitely be reading more from this author. Oh, and this is the 7th book in the series but I never felt lost for a second, no matter what past characters showed up.

Ravenwood and Kate were a wonderful couple. No angst, no misunderstandings, just a forced marriage that turned into a wonderful love. And I abso-tiv-ly loved Aunt Muriel.

As to the narrator: Wonderful! Her voices were awesome but her voice for Aunt Muriel was totally on the mark. She sounded loving, funny and old, just like she should have. Stevie Zimmerman is the reason I’ll listen to Erica Ridley again. The characters really come alive with her narration.

    "Really enjoyable fun sweet read/listen."

I really enjoyed this story a lot. I loved Katherine and Ravenwood together. They made a great match and were made for each other. The chemistry between these two was great.

The story line and plot was very good. The characters were written excellently and you couldn't help but love them. He was a bit stuffy but romantic and she was outspoken and spunky. She made a great accidental duchess!

Also, this was a 5 hour 20 minute book so it was not full of filler nonsense. YAY

As for the narration. Well, Stevie Zimmerman is hit or miss for me sometimes, but recently she has gotten much better with the men's voices and the reading. Also, it seems the background fuzzy noise is less. If you have listened to her narrations you know what I am talking about. Anyway, this was a hit on the narration front. Really enjoyed this listen.

    "Truely lovely book"

Very quick and easy read. Loved the realisation both characters had that they had in fact fallen in love and that both wanted to do things for each other to make their lives easier. Also loved the caring and support shown for one another.
This story is written in the same vein as the other six in this series ... With a flow of words that describes each scene so that it conjures up a picture and puts one rights there, in the scene. That takes some talent!
In the audiobook version, Stevie Zimmerman has again shown her ability to help paint the picture.
Great teamwork for a truely lovely book and I am quite happy to recommend it.

"I hate to see the series end"

It was good to finally see the Duke find his HEA. He deserved it.

This was a good ending (?) to the series. I choked up a few times toward the end. And laughed at other times. Always a sign of a good story.

I liked the narration but, as with the previous books, the production could have been better. It was a bit tinny but I must have gotten used to it because it didn't bother me as much as the book went on.

I liked this series a lot.

    "Really loved this book"
    Any additional comments?

Katherine Ross has vowed to remain an unmarried, child-free spinster in order to follow her dreams. The Duke of Ravenwood is somewhat of a loner who wants to marry one day, but has his eye on no one in particular. When an innocent incident forces the pair to get married, they have to re-evaluate what they think they hold most dear as they find themselves falling in love with each other.

I really, really loved this book. I thought The Captain's Bluestocking Mistress was my favorite in the series, until I got my hands on this one. Kate and Ravenwood are both lovable, believable characters, and I found myself relating to each of them in different ways. I enjoyed the process they went through of marrying because they were forced to, to realizing they could potentially love each other, to being madly in love.

I received a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

    "Saved the Best for Last"
Where does The Duke's Accidental Wife rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

THis is one of the top audio books I've listened too and certainly the best of this Erica Ridley series for the story

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Duke's Accidental Wife?

When the Duke realizes that his poems aren't just about love in general but about Katherine

What does Stevie Zimmerman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a great voice for narration and adds to the story

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they finally realize that they each need the other and heir fears can be handled better together

    Any additional comments?

This is the perfect endind to this series which also started in the Duke's house with his sister's search for a husband

    "Loved it."
    Any additional comments?

I have been waiting for the Duke of Ravenwood's story since he first made his appearance in The Viscount's Christmas Temptation. He seemed like a character who needed love in his life and I couldn't wait to see him get his own happily ever after.
He is quite a closed off character and it would be easier for the reader to understand him more if they have read the previous books in the series.
Katherine Ross is outspoken, sociable and friendly but she doesn't follow the rules of society and isn't on the hunt for a husband. Unfortunately being discovered in a compromising position with the Duke of Ravenwood forces the pair into a marriage that neither of them want.
Lord Ravenwood is very romantic behind his cold exterior. He doesn't like crowds of people and shies away from social functions but he makes the effort to attend the functions that matter to Katherine and he supports her fully in her endeavours to promote the arts. He doesn't find it easy to voice his feelings though and the only real outlet he has is through his poetry and being creative in his own little secret garden.
There is a lovely feel to this story as the pair get to know one another. They acknowledge an attraction but they have to like each other as well in order for this marriage to work. Small steps in the right direction are made when they both make changes to their lives to ensure the happiness of the other. Katherine seems to be attuned to his eccentricities and adapts her lifestyle accordingly. Lord Ravenwood becomes less stuffy as the story progresses and the pair make the most adorable couple and well worth the wait.
