Publisher's summary

Nathaniel West doesn’t lose control.

As the playboy CEO of West Industries, he governs the boardroom during the day; as a strict dominant with exacting rules, he commands the bedroom at night. He never takes on inexperienced submissives, but when Abigail King’s application comes across his desk, he breaks his own restrictions and decides to test her limits.

Abby’s combination of innocence and willingness is intoxicating, and Nathaniel is soon determined to collar her as his own. As long as she follows his orders and surrenders herself fully to him, no one will get hurt.

But when Nathaniel begins falling for Abby on a deeper level, he realizes that the trust must go both ways - and he has secrets which could bring the foundations of their entire relationship crashing down....

Oh Nathaniel....blushing over here...

This book is Nathaniel POV and let me tell you what a POV. You will also find out his past and some steamy stories that made him why and who he is. There are some extra scenes that are not in the first book and I enjoyed them. NW is not as bad as he seemed in book 1. The narrator was good and I think worth a credit. Happy Listening!

Disappointed :(

Any additional comments?

Disappointed...I thought I was getting a new book with new stories. This is just a recollection of events in the first book only in the male characters point of view. Nothing was really different. Big let down for me.

Nice insight into Nathaniel

This was a good book. Yes, it's the same story as the first book, however there are differences. You get to hear it from Nathanael's point of view. See how he feels and reacts to the same situations; conversations he has with his friends, etc. Book 1 only gives Abby's side for the most part. The narrator ended up being good. He was very robotic at times but did well at changing his voice for the different characters. Based on the sample provided I almost didn't buy because of his robotic tone but I'm glad I did now.

HIS VS. HERS !!!

Would you try another book from Tara Sue Me and/or William Sharpe?

Absolutely. I listened to the first book "Submissive" and most BDSM books are more often than not portrayed by the thoughts of the female submissive; this one seen through the eyes and heard through the thoughts of the Dominant was refreshingly different.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting, I suppose, was Nathaniel West's feelings for Abigail and his ability to throw his walls of denial up so easily. No least interesting aspects.

What three words best describe William Sharpe’s performance?

Jerky, but promising.

I believe with time his performance will get better; sounded like he just needed to relax a bit. The timbre of his voice for Nathaniel was sexy and a little sultry - I believe that time and experience will definitely perfect both his male and female voices. Audible (or whomever does the matching) please give him more opportunities.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yep, most definitely.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the third installment; hope that TSM's books/series continue to show up (in order) on Audible.

A missed opportunity.

This is book 2 in THE SUBMISSIVE SERIES. It’s not a stand-alone. The story of THE SUBMISSIVE (book 1) is re-told from the Dominant’s point of view. There was potential for this novel to be delicious, but the opportunity was missed, in my opinion.

We find out a lot of romantic background things about The Dominant hero, Nathaniel in THE SUBMISSIVE. I felt there was so much potential for the story from his point of view to SHOW his inner struggles over his feelings for Abby right from the beginning, but the opportunity was by-passed. We are TOLD occasionally about his struggles but not the why. The writing was wooden and made the Dominant hero seem cold, hard and sometimes indecisive. And this representation of the hero was exacerbated by the narration of William Sharpe which I did not enjoy, sorry to say.

I don’t really seek out overly angsty stories, but there was potential for some to be inserted here so we could see how Nathaniel was torn by the information he held that he could not reveal to Abby. I could have loved and sympathised with him for having to struggle with his feelings, but it didn’t happen. and I’m left thinking I wish I had not bothered with this story. I can’t finish it. The original story, THE SUBMISSIVE is enough for now.

Disappointing

2 hours into this I realized I was listening to the same story as the submissive. I am not finding Nathaniel's POV to be that enlightening. I was tempted to skip the rest and go right to the third book but decided to stick with it in hopes it will be worth it.

DON'T WASTE YOUR CREDIT!!

Was The Dominant worth the listening time?

Ok, the second book of this series is only a repeat of the first story told in the previous book of this trilogy, "The Submissive." The only difference being that it was told in Nathaniel's perspective rather than in Abigail's/Abbi's perspective. It's a good story, don't get me wrong...I guess I just went into this book expecting it to be a continuation of the first first book rather than almost 13hrs of repeat listening. Nothing new was gained from reading/listening to this book at all. In fact if I had to do it all over again, (which I do because Audible graciously gave me back my credit) I would skip this book in the trilogy altogether and wait patiently for Tara Sue Me to deliver a conclusion to this trilogy worthy of the beautiful story she started in "The Submissive."

The narrator made the book extremely boring.

I really enjoyed the first two books, The Submissive and The Training. I must say this book could have been as enjoyable but the narrator was so boring, so dry and he talked so slow. Too bad because I really was looking forward to hearing Mr. West point of view. I couldn't finish it.
