Publisher's summary

A woman's desire...

With dreams of a great romantic love, Abigail Carrington sails to England to marry the man she has loved since childhood, Michael Ingram, Marquis of Darfield. She believes her betrothed is a generous and noble man who has been longing for her. But the handsome man waiting for her at the altar is a dark, brooding stranger who rushes her into marriage, then abandons her at his country estate. Only the passion of Michael's kiss gives her hope that theirs can be more than a marriage of convenience.

A man's need...

With scandal shadowing his past, Michael, the Devil of Darfield, had no need for a wife. Remembering only the little hellion who made life miserable for him aboard her father's ship, he resents the agreement he made to marry her so he could save his ancestral home. Though determined to ignore her, he cannot stop thinking about his lovely violet-eyed bride. Her beauty tempts him. Her charm bedevils him. He tries to drive her away until he almost loses her. Then he vows to regain her love - before it is too late...

Great Story, BUT...

I loved the story and the characters, but the voice Anne Flosnik used for Abby was PAINFULLY annoying. I could barely finish listening.

Paternal Manipulation

I'm ambivilant I believe. freeOverall, the story captured my interest and had me reacting emotionally. However, as the end neared, I Efound a lot of repitition: phrases, terms, actions. It got frustrating. I never skip ahead, but I was strongly tempted.

The narrator has a lovely r, it did not resonate for the 2 main characters. For Abbie, the voice was far too sweet (almost syrupy) for the fiesty woman she is supposed to portray. And Michael is to be sultry and attractive masculine to the hilt, but his voice was a mixture of an older an and an older woman. I did not find it alluring in the least.
Overall, the story was enjoyable. It mj

Awesom Book

What did you love best about The Devil's Love?

It holds your interest from the very start to the finish. I loved Abbey's strong character.

Which character – as performed by Anne Flosnik – was your favorite?

I like AF especially for the women's characters and the children, but not so much the men.

Any additional comments?

I don't want to give the story away but I hated what Abbey's father did to her and Michael had every right to feel the way he did. I enjoyed the love, romance and stormy words between them. It makes you wonder how it will end.

Read instead

A cliche recency romance that was good for some entertainment. The voice for Abby was disturbingly childish. I would have liked it better for a quick read instead of listening.

Heartbreaking but beautiful

The narrator is amazing! I love the story even though I cried through a lot of it because of the misunderstandings of the main female character and the way she is treated. True love conquers all in the end though which is why I love romance novels. Real life is already tough, I need a little happiness (no matter how far fetched it is) in my life.

Almost but not quite

My review may be too circumspect, but this was a great story until everybody got a personality change without divine intervention. Or maybe it was Divine intervention and He didn’t get the credit.

The heroine was lovable until she refused to forgive the person she loved the most but gave it easily to the one who betrayed her.

She was brilliant until she suddenly became clueless. Well traveled with men and she knew NOTHING about intercourse? Not buying it.

The hero had an anger and trust problem, and still had it at the conclusion of the “happy ever after.” I don’t see this couple staying together. Who cares? Well, a really good story shows the characters growing into more mature people so that a happy ever after appears plausible. I heard the word “love” referenced but the characters were kind of “oops I’m sorry” and proceeded on.
